7 Essential Skills Digital Content Writers Need [Video]

What you need to do as a writer is, you need to have concise statements.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________How to Write Blog Posts That Consistently Rank Well on Google: https://youtu.be/CjzjUbA8nzAHow to Boost Your SEO Traffic with Sleeper Content (And Stop Promoting Worthless Content): https://youtu.be/kUih7iP-YZYHow to Come Up With Content Ideas That Drive Traffic: https://youtu.be/7l5btHy2rxQUbersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________So if you’re a writer, you’re writing to either draw more attention in and eventually convert those eyeballs and that attention into leads, customers, right? Google analytics tells you what content they like, what they don’t, what’s causing them to bounce. It won’t explicitly tell you what’s causing them to bounce, but you can make some educational based guess based on the data that they’re providing. It’ll also tell you the type of content that converts the best, the type of content that doesn’t. So that way, when you’re writing, you can write with the end goal in mind, which is eventually you want to have a conversion, whether that’s someone buying right then and there, or turning into lead, and it’ll provide you that data. If you continually write and write blindly, and you write based off what people tell you is amazing, do your friends do, that’s all great and fine and dandy, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that what you’re writing is going to convert into revenue. So there’s over a billion blogs on the internet. That’s roughly one for every seven people. There’s a lot of blogs. The amount of content that’s being pushed out each day is so overwhelming. We don’t really need much more content, everyone’s regurgitate the same information. If you don’t have a strategy, how are you going to be different? How are you going to stand out? How are you going to convert people? What topics are you going to cover that solve the pinpoints of your customers? If you don’t have a strategy in place and a plan of action, then all you’re going to be doing is producing content that doesn’t really do anything at the end of the day. Even if you think that this is better based off of analytics data, but you don’t have the strategy and how you’re going to attack that, and how you’re going to go forward, then you’re just wasting your time and energy. So the first step in this strategy is attracting the eyeballs. And what you would want to do is see what’s in your space that’s popular. So there’s a tool called Ubersuggest that I have, and you can use it for free. You can type in a keyword or a phrase and click on when you’re in Ubersuggest you want to go to the content ideas report, it’ll tell you what’s popular based off of social shares, like Facebook and Pinterest. Search traffic, what ranks well in Google and how much traffic does it get and what keywords is a rank for. And the third thing is links. What other sites are linking to it because they like the content? So you want to look at the topics and the exact headline that are doing well, and it’ll also show you in the tool, what doesn’t do well. So you want to more so focus on creating content that’s popular on what people like. Now, you don’t want to just copy that and regurgitate what’s already existing on the web, but you want to do something that’s better than that. Think of skyscrapers. And in the United States we may have the Empire State Building, then you may have someone in Dubai who’s like, ah, we’re going to create the Burj Khalifa, I think was what it’s called. And it’s going to be even taller, it’s going to be double the height. I’m making it up. You’re going to have somebody in China say, we’re going to do triple the height, we’re going to have our buildings go into the clouds. The point I’m making is, you want your content to stand out and be unique, go above and beyond what people are already doing. because if something’s already popular and have worked well, if you do something that’s double, triple better, you’re much more likely to have your content do really well too. The Role of Creativity in Digital Marketing [Video]

And that’s why in marketing, I think one of the best skillsets is creativity.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Digital Marketing Trends You Can’t Ignore in 2021: https://youtu.be/BjKZ7cNt5roHow to Navigate Digital Marketing: https://youtu.be/Kcn9M_pqyMQUbersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________When you look at the organic reach, it’s harder and harder, but, here’s the thing, there’s new platforms that always come around and make it easier to get rich, for example, I was on Clubhouse, literally right before we ended up doing this podcast interview, okay? And I started with a hundred and something followers, I joined a room talk for literally 30 seconds and now I have 400 and something followers. Now, is it going to be that easy to gain followers on Clubhouse, if they maintain their popularity and their growth rate within a year or two? Of course not, right? Is it easy to gain popularity on LinkedIn right now? Yes. Why, less than 3%, or roughly around 3% of the people on LinkedIn only post content, which means majority of the people don’t post content., they want more people to post content. Now, if LinkedIn had 30% of their people posting content, do you think you would gain as much followers and reach when you post your content? Of course not and why? Because there’s competition, they’re already getting what they’re looking for. So these platforms will encourage you really early on and give you what you want, but the moment they start doing well enough where they don’t need it as much, then they turn the little knobs and throttle it, so then that way they start making more money, but it doesn’t mean you can’t grow in marketing, you just got to get creative and that’s why in marketing, I think one of the best skillsets is creativity. Yeah, sure, you can read and learn, but if you can’t think outside the box, especially when everyone else is doing the same thing, you’re not going to do well. There’s so many people with more money, more employees, more resources, you got to really think outside of the box to win. So and what’s funny is, it’s like I know real estate agents who have done well purely because of LinkedIn. One of my buddies Todd, who’s in the mortgage industry has gotten quite a few customers from LinkedIn as well. Who’d ever thought though, right? You can end up getting business from these sites and these platforms, if you participate. Digital Marketing Trends You Can’t Ignore in 2021 [Video]

CPCs, and you know, cost for impressions decreasing drastically right now. I don’t know if you guys see that, but we see that. We also see conversion rates decreasing.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________What are the MAJOR changes in SEO for 2021?: https://studio.youtube.com/video/RjIs4S2z1W0/edit7 SEO Experiments to Test in 2021: https://studio.youtube.com/video/o_S2uyuLiFw/editUbersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________I’m making a number up just to keep the numbers simple for everyone. But if your conversions dip by 20%, but your CPCs dip by 40 or not by 40, but by four X, so 400%, you still make more money.Stealing toilet paper, your CPCs aren’t going down. Your CPCs may not be going down, but your CPA’s are going down because everyone’s buying. You’re selling travel, your CPCs are really plummeted, but your CPA is even worse than your CPC, so it doesn’t even matter, right? Obviously, whether the people are looking for new recipes, off of say, like a download bar or something or food delivery apps that are absolutely smashing it right now. But everything else is majority down. Most verticals outside of that, besides health, which I saw it on your graph, had a little bit of it or has an increase. Almost everything.A lot of the brands are the ones who are having a slashed budget, so we’re seeing a lot of offers go down too. So with that being said, more than not this time in particular, brands are what people should be focusing on building over anything else. It should be brand-focused first because they can be that takeover, that bleach over, hand sanitizer, a keyword, or whether it’s a Facebook like, you know, avoiding FTC, looking for brands that they can rely on.And this is a great time to focus on building a brand, but it’s just a terrible time in general. It doesn’t mean you can’t start a business or come out fine. It’s just that times are tough right now. Cut fat. I know that sounds bad, but sometimes you have to cut to stay in business or furlough. Try to avoid that. But you can apply for the government loans and grants in different countries, so that way you can retain people. The second thing would be offer additional services to make up any revenue loss. The third thing would be is get creative and start thinking out of the box. People can’t pay you. Maybe they even pay you on a performance basis. So start trying different things just to get your income going. And focusing a lot on the back end for your clients as much as possible as well. It’s an unprecedented times for sure. And every day, we’re learning things new. And we don’t have to go into it too much, but, you know, returning the economy back to normal is one thing. Is the cure worth it? It’s this ongoing conversation. No easy decision. You’re going to have a lot of people come online. They were online anyway, but now they’re making more purchases online. They’re realizing how convenient it is. because they didn’t just have to do it for a week. It’s been so far a month, and then it’ll take roughly another month or two. So they’re getting used to it. You’re going to see a lot of these people continue with that trend. You can get up and running through click funnels. Just run some ads through Facebook, and you can crush it. Create good courses and products. But you can do really well, especially right now, with CPCs being so low. – Yeah, I mean, to that point, make good products everyone. There’s so much noise out there. Everyone’s selling a course. Be different. Be bold. Do something that actually provides value. I think the industry can get a bit of a bad rep with all these courses out there, but provide that unique advantage. Something that you can only share is much appreciated for everyone in this industry and those clients that are purchasing it as well. This is the time. People are shifting online to learn. People are looking for additional income revenues generated for themselves. So this is the time. If you have something to share, if it’s unique, definitely go online and do it. The Quickest Way to Create Popular Web Pages (And Get Tons of Traffic) [Video]

How To Build Pages That Rank #1 On Google Consistently | SEO Tips: https://youtu.be/LEUb_wTHv4IHow to Find All the Keywords That Your Competitors Rank For (But That You Don’t): https://youtu.be/vF1URMDVO7AUbersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________So the first thing I want you to do is head on over to Ubersuggest, you need to go to ubersuggest.com or neilpatel.com/ubersuggest. Then what I want you to do is type in one of your competitor’s domains. If you don’t know a competitor, or who your competitor maybe, just think about what industry you’re in. And what do I want to do is break down, all right, how do I go out there and create really popular web pages really fast? Well, whenever you put in a competitor domain name into Ubersuggest, it tells you the roughly monthly traffic and their authority. And then I want you to click on Top Pages by Traffic. This breaks down, I got to put in Moz, not neilpatel.com. This breaks down the most popular web pages on their website. As you can see here, the beginner’s guide to SEO, what is SEO? Free tools, this is really cool. I can create a page on free tools, even if I don’t have free tools myself, what I could do I can link to other people’s tools in my space, maybe add affiliate links. Like, as you can see here, this isn’t really a big competing, or this isn’t really like a text-based heavy webpage. It’s just a page on free tools. And when I click here under View All, it’ll show me all the keywords they use to get that traffic. I can export it as well. So, I can just have that list. And now I know, all right, I should go and create an article on free SEO tools. And if I do that, I can actually point them to Ubersuggest, because there’s a free version of it. Like, you know, you don’t have to pay for it and then go from there. And I probably can generate more traffic. So, I can create articles based on, or web pages, based on what’s working for them. They have a free keyword tool. They have a guide to online ad types. I think that would be really useful and it probably doesn’t need to be as text rich, maybe there’s is, but I can create an article or infographic that just talk about the ad types, it’s a lot more images than texts, And I can tell people in there, hey, if you need help with your ad types, check out my ad agency, NP Digital. Now what’s cool about this report, and Uber sets the Top Pages by Traffic, anytime you put it in a quote unquote competitor domain name. You can see all the keywords that page ranks for. So, not only do you want to view the page, like I clicked to go view the page, I’m also here at the WordStream one. I can see all the keywords that they’re including to get that traffic from Google. And that gives me ideas on what keywords I need to include within my content. And you can just keep doing that and go next, next, next. And you can see all the keywords that they’re leveraging, which will help you not just create blog posts, but also web pages. So that way, you know what to focus on because you can see here, not all the popular pages on a site are blog posts, like this, one’s a blog, this one’s a blog, this one’s a blog and it keeps going. And if your business is not based in the United States, don’t worry. You can click on India for a competitor or Great Britain, and you could see who their most popular page is within that region and go through that formula all over again and replicate it. This strategy is super, super effective. I give this to my teams and that way, when we look at our competitors and we’re analyzing them, we focus on creating webpages that are superpopular on our competition versus just creating whatever we want. So then that way we are creating pages that generate traffic first and fast, because we already know that they work super well. How to Boost Your SEO Traffic with Sleeper Content (And Stop Promoting Worthless Content) [Video]

You look at all these SEO tools out there, whether it’s Ubersuggest, Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz, and you type in a keyword, like I typed in marketing tools here, and you’ll see a SEO difficulty number which tells you how hard it is to rank for that keyword on Google. Now, this data is pulled through backlinks, but how can you figure out if a keyword is really easy or not to rank without going through all the effort of promoting the content? Today I’m going to break down how you can increase your traffic through sleeper content.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Ubersuggest (Free SEO tool): https://ubersuggest.com/How to Do SEO For A Tiny Site With No Backlinks (video): https://youtu.be/Y772PSqmudoMy Favorite SEO Hack to Increase Website Traffic (video): https://youtu.be/WTWZQ_4_zNk____________________________________________As I mentioned earlier, if you use a SEO tool and you type in any keyword, whether it’s marketing tools or even just something like marketing, you’ll see how difficult it is to rank for a keyword. And some of these keywords are really easy to rank for. Some of them are much harder to rank for. But does that mean that you can’t rank for these keywords if you don’t have a ton of backlinks? No, that’s not the case, and the reason being is Google uses many factors. Links are just one aspect of it. Traffic without putting tones of effort through sleeper content. So let’s head over to the neilpatel.com website. As you can see here, here’s my homepage. Scroll down, a little bit about me. And then now let’s go to the blog where you can find all my content. Now I’m going to show you my content. I want you to see what’s off, okay. Some have little to no comments, like 12 or 8. But why is that? Why are some posts doing extremely well and others aren’t? Well, I’m going to share a little secret with you. The posts that tend to have a lot of comments I promote. I push on social media, like Facebook, Instagram, videos, and my live sessions. I’ll cross-link to them more. I even do email blasts, push notification blasts. I give a ton to promote them so that way people get to know that content, they want to share that content, and hopefully it ranks higher. But you can only send so many email blasts in a day. You can only send so many push notification blasts. You can only promote so many posts on Facebook on your fan page before your audience gets irritated that you’re sharing five pieces of content a day. So let me tell you a little secret on what I do. I create a ton of sleeper content. I’ll cross-link. I’ll promote it more. I’ll try to build links by manually outreaching to sites. I’ll push it on social media. I may even do the email blast. But what I’m doing is I’m creating tones of content and publishing it. But most of my content that I publish like that, this is what I call sleeper content, which if you’re publishing it, you’re not really telling too many people about it, you’re not marketing it, it doesn’t all rank. A lot of these pages that I’m writing content on aren’t ranking in the top 10 results or top 10 pages on Google. But a good portion of them are, and all I’m doing is just publishing content. The moment it gets to page two, I’ll start doing more marketing to try to get it to page one. And really what I’m looking at is not if it hits page two. I’m looking to see if it hits the top of page two or bottom of page one. I’ve been doing this strategy for years. It works really well. And you probably haven’t seen a lot of this content because I don’t push it out in email blasts or social media mentions, but it works really well, and that’s how I’ve grown my traffic to millions of visitors a month. So let me know your thoughts. Curious if you like this strategy. The Untold Laws of Growth Hacking – Propelling Your Business to Exponential Growth [Video]

Today’s lesson, we’re going to be discussing the principles of growth hacking. So why use growth hacking? Well, it saves on advertising costs. It’s more efficient, and it’s a much quicker way to grow than just using the traditional channels. And in many cases, when you just use the traditional marketing channels to grow, it costs a lot of money and you have to raise venture capital, which is why we discussed that in the previous lessons. But if you use growth hacking you can be much more efficient and you don’t need as much capital to grow faster. RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Download the Assets mentioned in this course: https://neilpatel.com/training/Demo Duck: https://demoduck.com/Animoto: https://animoto.com/____________________________________________The first step with growth hacking is about having a product people want. It doesn’t matter how good you’re at marketing. If people don’t like your product or they don’t like your service, you’re not going to do well. So make sure you always fine-tune your product. There’s three disciplines that I want to cover in today’s lesson: psychology, technology, and marketing. Growth hacking is when you use marketing, psychology, and technology, and you combine them all to achieve business growth for maximum users, revenue sales. Now let’s dive into psychology first. With psychology, a lot of people are like, all right, this product was $30, now it’s 10. And in essence, they’re doing a sale, and that creates a lot of movement in the product. And when you have sales, that works out well. But you’re like, Hey, I don’t always have the sale running. That’s okay. You can use psychology in different ways with pricing. And the reason this is important when you’re using psychology within your copy, within the images is when you’re driving things like paid traffic, if your conversion rate isn’t as high, well, your ROI is not as good and you can’t spend as much. The big thing that I want you to take away when using psychology, it also needs to be logical. If it’s not logical, it doesn’t work as well. Yes, you want to play against emotions but you want to play against emotions and logic. Another strategy is product demos and explainer videos. We used to use them on crazyegg.com years ago. We used a company called Demo Duck back in the day to create them. There’s tons of options. Now I don’t know if Demo Duck still exists or not. And you can do it for more than just software companies or technology companies. You can also do it for eCommerce products. 73% more visitors who watch product videos will buy. Videos appear in roughly 14% of internet search results. So it’s a great way to get extra traffic. And 71% of consumers think videos explain the product better. And 57% are less surprised by products with the video, which causes less refunds. And 58% of shoppers think companies with product videos can be trusted. So you should really consider creating a video if you don’t have one.Another quick and easy way that you can grow as well, similar to, you know, using product videos as a hack, this one is exclusivity.I also recommend that you use humans in your video to explain things. Just keeps things really simple. I recommend you keep it short. Don’t have 20-30 minute videos if you don’t need to, if you can have a 1-minute video, even better 30 seconds. Anything that you can do to imply urgency. And the best product videos tend to tell a story as well as demo. So those two things are super important. I also want you to try progression as a psychological hack. And the idea of helping them achieve their goals is great. So whatever they’re doing, help them level up and achieve more. And that’s a great way to get them to really stick with it and continually pushing forward.I also want to show you advanced sales funnel that I use to generate more leads and sales. I use a lot of psychology in one of my funnels. I know it’s a little bit hard to see.Don’t worry about, you know, looking at each and every single step. Again, you can get this at NeilPatel.com/training. Click on Growth Hacking Unlocked, and in there click on week two. It’s the first video lesson in there. A lot of people use advanced funnels. Good example of this, my buddy Timothy Sykes, helped him grow to 15 million per year. He’s much bigger than that now. And Timothy really grew through funnels. It just worked really, really well for him. So imagine combining traditional marketing with technology and psychology, and that’s where the power comes from. That’s how you grow a business. How I Generated 37,186,336 Video Views Without Going Viral [Video]

Going viral is tough. Everyone wants to go viral because they want millions and millions of video views. But what if I told you that you can get millions of video views without going viral. Today I’m going to break down how I got 37 million video views without going viral.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Social Blade: https://socialblade.com/Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________It’s probably safe to say I have over 50 million views. That’s a lot of views. So how do you do that without going viral? And today I’m going to show you how to do that. The first thing I want you to do is go to Google and google Ubersuggest Chrome extension. And when you type that in, it’s the first result, it’s chrome.google.com. The URL’s really long. So I just want you to Google. Ubersuggest Chrome extension And there’s over 200,000 people that use it, install it. And as you can see here, I’ve already have it installed. And you see that there’s this little orange U icon. That’s Ubersuggest. And if you don’t see it there click the little puzzle piece. And then I want you to pin, click the pin for Ubersuggest, and then you’ll see it. Now, when you go back to YouTube and you search for anything. And let’s say I type in the word, digital marketing and I’m going to type it in. And the Ubersuggest extension will show you how many people search for digital marketing every single month. And it adds up. And I’ll go and create topics on digital marketing and, and based on a look at some of the other videos and what people are doing. And I’ll use that to figure out, all right maybe I should create a video on this. And it’ll tell me not just what the search volume is for that keyword but it’ll also give me other recommendations in the right sidebar. So that way I have more ideas of the keywords that I could be doing. The next thing I want you to do is go to neilpatel.com/ubersuggest, so that way you can get a bigger list ideas. And I want you to type in some of the competitors in your space. So let’s say your competitor is Neil Patel, being me. And when you type in a domain name like Neil Patel you’ll get a traffic overview where you see the popularity of a website over time and how much traffic they’re going. But I want you to click in the left navigation keywords by traffic. And when you click on keywords by traffic just make sure you put in their domain name. And you’ll see all the keywords that I’m ranking for. Not necessarily getting this many visits, which is volume. Estimated visits is on the right side. But you can see by volume what keywords are searched a lot being Reddit, news, Google ad words, you know, Google my business, Discord bots Quora, blogging, vlogging search engine optimization, SEO, advanced search on Twitter, Twitter advanced search, copywriting, search engines, influencers. And when you do this for your competition and you keep scrolling, a lot of the keywords won’t be relevant for you. Some of them will be, any of the ones that are it’ll give you ideas for keywords that you could be targeting. I’m using Ubersuggest to find all the other domains that have a lot, that are in my category. Like if this one is on, I think we saw podcasts advertising or podcasts topics. Or let’s go, What? I don’t know, content marketing, click on it. And then I can see all the other sites that rank for content marketing. One of the ones that ranks at the top is content marketing institute. Then I can go, Ima copy their domain here, go to keywords by traffic. And I can end up going through content marketing institute and then seeing, all right what are all the keywords that they’re using as well? And this will give me good ideas on more keywords that I can create videos on. And when you create hundreds and hundreds of videos like I did, I know it takes time. You’ll get the millions of views. Don’t rely on going viral. You can’t predict that, but you can predict that if you create tons of videos that are useful and helpful, each video may get five 10,000 views a month or even 2000 views a month. But when you have so many, it’ll add up and over the years you’ll get millions and millions of views and generate tons of revenue from it. Play the numbers game, create quality content in quantity when it comes to videos, put it on all the social sites out there you’ll get the traffic, you’ll get the views. You’ll get the revenue from it, you’ll get the brand awareness. And it’s the long game. It works. Stop trying to waste your time going viral. How to Use Crazy Egg – CRO Unlocked [Video]

Today’s another day of CRO Unlocked, where we go over how you can improve your conversion rates. This lesson is on best practices, part two. Today we’re going to be breaking down how to use Crazy Egg to increase your conversion rate.RESOURCES & LINKS:________________________________________Download the Assets mentioned in this course: https://neilpatel.com/training/Crazy Egg: https://crazyegg.com/________________________________________So just a quick overview, you can monitor visitor interactions through different software with Crazy Egg. You can create a snapshot of your page and as your page changes, you can see how visitors interact with different variations of your site, so you can improve your conversion rates and get a better understanding how people truly interact with your website. So how do you use snapshots? Well, you can choose a variety of advanced choices while making a snapshot. You can pick the system form to monitor let’s say desktop, mobile, or even tablet. You can determine the expiration time of when you want to stop tracking. And that’ll help you better understand, here’s how people interact during these specific times. And snapshots are really important because as you make changes, you can see again how visitor interactions change specifically on different devices. And this tool helps you evaluate and analyze how people engage within your site. It’s a graphical representation of all the places users clicked on your website whether it’s a link or a dead click, or they’re just reading and they’re clicking around on your text, you can see that all within the heatmap. So how do you analyze heatmaps? Well, we’ve covered a little bit, but some few tips for you. Make sure that your call to actions are being seen and they’re being clicked on. If you’re noticing that no one’s really looking at them or clicking on them, you can change the placement.Place the content in the order of importance to your users, just don’t place content however you want. If certain parts of your content are more important than others, make sure they’re placed in the right areas where people see them. And track what’s going on behind pop-ups or forms or login screens as well so that way you can optimize the whole experience instead of just a little bit of it. And set up a conversion process or pages for success so that way you can truly win. Then there’s a scrollmap within Crazy Egg. And a scroll map is what it sounds like. It shows you what percentage of users scroll where. And it’s not what you always think. You can segment all your traffic within Crazy Egg and see how different audiences interact with your web pages differently. So then you can create different experiences for let’s say the paid users versus the organic users. In essence, the people who are scrolling more tend to be more engaged and you need to figure out what elements you need to place within those peak elements so that way you can maximize your revenue. Then there’s also the confetti and overlay reports in Crazy Egg.Confetti is just like, it looks on the right side. It’s all these dots in different colors and the dots represent different traffic sources and you can segment it.So I recommend that you run an overlay report on Crazy Egg. My favorite part about the overlay is I can see the dead zones, the other clicks. These are that elements that they’re clicking on that aren’t really clickable that you need to fix so that way you have a better user experience. One of my favorite features of the list report is anytime that you click on a specific element in the list report it actually brings up the overlay report. So you know what it is and how people are engaging and using the specific element or clicking or experience on your site. You can run a lot of AB tests, and testing is a continuous process. You always need to iterate and improve. Testing is ideal method for assessing and iterating. So that way you can get early wins. Saves you both time and money. So how do you optimize your site over time? Again, you need to do tests and analyze the results. You need to feed data into Crazy Egg. You need to use data to drive growth. New drive more leads, sales and customers. There’s this thing that’s also called heuristic analysis where you think about how people are engaging with your overall site and what you need to do from a UX interaction design standpoint, to improve everything. And it’s the evolution of CRO and that’s where people are going. It’s not just based on, oh, what button color should I use or what text? It’s about how do you improve the experience for people.
