Why YouTube Is the Key to Building a Strong Personal Brand

He fell in love with YouTube because it is the only platform where content can truly live on forever.
What makes YouTube unique, according to Cannell, is that it is not just a content feed like other social media platforms. It is a content library where users can find videos related to specific topics they are interested in. This is made possible by YouTube’s algorithm, which recommends content to viewers based on their behavior.
This makes it a powerful tool for entrepreneurs and creatives who want to attract their ideal customers and clients. By creating strategic content that addresses their pain points and problems, they can attract and serve their target audience, ultimately leading to monetization.
Although YouTube is not traditionally considered a social media platform, it does offer unique interactive features such as comments and conversations. While it may not be as interactive as other platforms, Cannell notes that YouTube is a forgotten social media platform that is not always included in the list of social media platforms.
YouTube is also expanding into podcasting, which Cannell is excited about. In fact, he reveals that YouTube is the number one podcast destination for listening consumption, despite being larger than other traditional podcasting platforms such as Apple and Spotify. YouTube is investing in audio creators, acquiring 20 NPR shows, and investing $500,000 into creators who are transitioning from audio to video podcasting.
In summary, Cannell encourages entrepreneurs and creatives to invest in their YouTube presence to maximize their impact, protect their brand, and future-proof their business.
