Twitter Doubles Down on Creators [Video]

I think Twitter’s going to go where the experiments tell them to. Some things will work, some things won’t. Sounds like they’re taking a lot of concepts from a lot of different platforms. They’re going to spend way more time on your platform, which is going to make it more popular and help Elon generate some of his investment back. All right. So we are going to talk about how Twitter is doubling down on creators, and we’ll jump into it. RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Answer the public: https://answerthepublic.com/Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/Revolutionizing Marketing with AI: The Future is Here: https://youtu.be/l_U4aQTj6MgNew to Digital Marketing- 10 Essential Tips for a Strong Start: https://youtu.be/4abNIEHj-10____________________________________________Yeah, I think Twitter’s going to go where the experiments tell them to. So, they’re running a lot of tests. It sounds like they’re taking a lot of concepts from a lot of different platforms, ex Patreon and start leveraging some of the other financial models, see if you can end up monetizing, better for creators because if you can monetize better for creators and give them incentives, what are they going to do? They’re going to spend way more time on your platform, which is going to make it more popular and help Elon generate some of his investment back. Yeah, I look at Twitter as they’re just going to run a ton of experiments. It’s going to be a whole bag of tricks. They’re going to whip him out and they’re going to see which ones work and which ones don’t. And I think that’s smart, not because it’s Elon, of course. He’s done really well in life, but in business a lot of times none of us know the right answers. If you want to copy someone else, that’s fine, but if you really want to do well, you got to be willing to test and experiment and try new things and be open to failing. Some things will work, some things won’t. And what I think he’s trying to make Twitter, he did mention this in the past is end all, be all platform. Was it WeChat or WePay or something like that where you can do transactions and you can do everything on Twitter? I don’t know if it’ll go down to that path, but what I do think he’ll end up doing is figuring out how to make it more of a community. Before Elon, Twitter was just a place where you release some tweets. Every once in a while you can do some videos that you push up, but it’s more so a place to get information and converse with others. I think they still have that, but what they’re also adding in is all the other aspects that make social communities popular so that way they can get a bigger slice of the market. And so he might seem immature on Twitter at times but at the end of the day, the guy’s a great product guy and he will try to do what he can to make Twitter a place where people want to hang out more. Their creator incentives right now are really good where if Neil creates like a subscription or I create a subscription they’re not going to take any money for a while too. So that’s pretty incentivizing. One thing to keep in mind is if you haven’t seen the BBC interview of Elon, you should check it out. He talks to the BBC interviewer about misinformation. The BBC interview says like, “Oh, there’s a lot more hate on Twitter. And Elon asked him for examples and the guy couldn’t produce examples. And Elon’s like, “Yeah, you’re lying.” And most people took that as like, “Oh, Elon just burn the BBC guy.” I didn’t look at it that way. And sure you there’s also that viewpoint about, I took at it as Elon was genuinely curious on what was the hate speech because I believed when I was listening to it he was like, “Oh, cool what is it? I want to know so I can try to solve it?” And the second point is, Mark Cuban recently tweeted out saying that his reach isn’t as good or he’s not getting as many likes or retweets or whatever you want to end up calling it. And Elon also stated somewhere, I forgot where I read this, where like, “Yeah, the reach also isn’t as good, digging into it and trying to figure out why.” He’s actually taking the criticism that people are giving to try to improve the platform. If someone said, “Hey, there’s a ton of hate speech” and you can show him and it’s factual, it’s not opinionated I believe he would actually try to solve it. I think that’s very unique with a lot of these social platforms. Most of them just try to do what is producing the most income. Yes, he is trying to monetize and figure out how to make more money from the platform other than just ads. But what’s interesting is he’s also a creator himself and a brand. This Low Effort Social Strategy Brings in a Ton of ROI [Video]

How much effort are you putting into your social media strategy? It can be so frustrating if you’re putting in all this time and effort, but you’re still not getting much if any kind of return on your latest campaign in your time. That’s why you need to work smarter, not harder. 00:00 Intro00:35 The Strategy01:30 Why it WorksRESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/AnswerThePublic: https://answerthepublic.com/ ____________________________________________Look, your audience is out there. After all, according to Statista, there are 4.59 billion users on social media. So if you want to expand your reach, there are plenty of opportunities to do so, but you have to do it right. My favorite way to boost ROI on social? It’s to post content users actually respond to and I do that by posting carousel ads. Carousel ads have the engagement rate per post of 1.9% compared to 1.74% for images and 1.45% for videos and that number goes over 2% when all 10 slides are used. And the craziest part, a combination of images and videos in the same carousels can drive even higher engagement at 2.33%.Now, here’s where the issue comes in for users. 88% of carousels only contain images and 4% only contained videos. Carousel ads also have a 72% higher CTR than single-image ads. Now, here’s a kicker with carousels and this is why you needed to use them, especially with ads. Think of it this way, with social media what does Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and everyone want? They want you to keep users on the platform. See, if I pitch you on let’s say this phone that I’m selling and I say check out this phone, buy it through a carousel ad or just a normal ad, actually, not even a carousel ad. What’s going to happen? You’re going to ignore it. You’re not going to swipe up, you’re not going to care. And there’s a big drop-off rate from how many people see the ad versus how many people click, right? But on the flip side, if I do a carousel ad and I say you got to buy this iPhone, it’s amazing. I’m selling it, and I show you in a carousel 10 cool things that this phone does, and you swipe, oh wow, amazing camera, help me take better social media images. Swipe two. Oh, wow. Better battery life than the previous versions. It lasts 50% longer. Swipe again, oh wow, the storage space is even bigger. I can store another 5,000 extra images that I couldn’t store before. Oh, even this is even more amazing, the front camera’s in HD. And then I go and I say, oh, this one’s really cool. It has augmented reality built into the phone. Oh, it comes with sound-blocking noise. When I talk to someone on speaker, it blocks off the background noise from. Oh, this is really cool. I got kids in the background that make a lot of noise, so this phone is like right for me. And then they can click through and buy.You see what I did there? I sold people through my carousel ad, so I don’t have as big of a drop-off from people seeing the ad and then clicking over to my website to learn more. This way, they’re learning within the carousel ad and then when they click through, they’re ready to buy. That is the simplest social strategy that’ll help you generate more return today. Use it. We do it for our clients. It works out well. It works for almost every industry, both B2B, B2C. I don’t care if you’re selling a product or a service, it works. Check it out. You got to use it. 7 Beginner Mistakes That Are DESTROYING Your Social Media Engagement [Video]

Seven beginner mistakes that are destroying your social media engagement. Look, no matter how many followers you have, if you don’t manage to keep them engaged and entertained over time, the results are just going to get worse and worse and it’s going to be hard to recover. Engagement is one of the key factors that pretty much all social media channels use to measure and determine whether or not they should show up your content to your followers. That’s right, just because you create content doesn’t mean that they’re going to serve it to your followers. They decide based on your engagement. So it’s one of those things that you should be really paying attention to and it should be at the center of your attention.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________Mistake number one, not responding to customers’ DMs right away. According to Khoro’s, on Twitter and Facebook, approximately 75% of users expect a response from a private message, while 68% expect a response to a public tweet, post or comment. On Instagram, 73% of users expect a brand to respond to whether they reach out privately or publicly. If you don’t meet your users expectations in the chances you have to end interact with them, your engagement will continually decrease over time. Mistake number two, not responding to comments. Social media is a game about reciprocation. Your audience is interested in your product and will appreciate it more when they feel that deep connection with you.Mistake number three, not learning from your past successes and failures. If you’re putting out content that no one cares to engage with, then don’t put it out there. If you’re putting out content that people love, and you stop doing that type of content, you’re making a mistake, learn from your successes, do more of that. Pay attention to your social media account analytics, identify things that resonate with your audience, and do more of that. Identify what doesn’t resonate with people, and do less of that. Mistake number four, self-serving content. Make it about your audience, not about your own product and service sure eventually you may have to promote your own product or services but that should only be like five or 10% of the time. I do it maybe a few percentage of the time.Mistake number five, too much selling. Users don’t go to social media because they want to buy stuff. Yes, they do buy but they buy when they like something and more importantly, they learn and they connect with that channel. There are too many channels out there that just try to sell, engage first, build that loyalty because then it’s much easier to sell. Mistake number six, not acknowledging story mentions. Reciprocity is the key. Everyone loves getting a mention of their favorite brand when they post a story and they see that brand reposting. Mistake number seven, posting too much or not enough. Imagine this, you’re putting together your social media marketing plan including a post two times a day on Facebook. It goes all well for two weeks and then all of a sudden posting two times a day hurts you because people are just overwhelmed and not engaging with the content because it’s not good enough. When you don’t post too often, people may not see your brand as trust with. When you post too often, people may get overwhelmed when you don’t post enough, people may not be familiar with your brand, build that connection. So you got to find the right balance. And you’ll see if you post too much and your engagement starts going down. Start posting a little bit less. And if you’re posting very so often where your mainly just goes down the drain that means you’re not posting enough. You’ll find the right balance. And usually posting at least once every other day is a good start. I would try to recommend that you try to post at least once a day though to start off with. How to Develop a Social Media Strategy Step by Step [Video]

How to develop a social media strategy step-by-step. RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/Hootsuite: https://www.hootsuite.com/Post Planner: https://www.postplanner.com/____________________________________________Step one, it’s all about setting goals. What do you want to get from your social media presence? You want to get more branding, you want to generate some sales, you want some leads, you want some clicks to your website so that way people click on your ads.I want to increase my traffic to my website and I want to improve my community engagement. You see, these are all examples of stuff that are my goals that I set, and I want to also to deliver amazing content through my social channels that help other people out. The second step, is for you to select the social media channels that can help you achieve those goals. Let me give you example. If I want to use social media drive more convergence in sales there are platforms that be more suitable for that goal. So the social media channels that you’ll choose are totally dependent on the goals you have. I would recommend that you start off with only one or two social media channels, because the more that you add right away, it becomes more overwhelming. You’re going to spread yourself thin, and you’re not going to really get the results that you want. Then you can diversify add more social channels later on, and you can repurpose your content of course. The third step that you need to take if you’re already on social media, is to do a social media audit. And that doesn’t need to be that complicated. You can focus basically on identifying what’s going well and what isn’t. Here are a few things that you need to check, how fast or slow is your account growing in terms of followers. Now, what are those content formats? What content types are doing the best, is it videos, images, carousel, written posts? What types of messages that you just love and want to engage with the most? What causes your audience to leave the most comments? The fourth step that you’re going to take, is to create a profile of the audience that you’re targeting. What are the age groups that you’re going after? What are the interest that your target audience has? Is there a specific gender that’s more relevant to your brand? What are the cultural phenomenons that your audience is really interested in? How can you leverage that more? You can use Google Analytics if you have a website to get idea of what’s people are already interested in or at least your audience is interested in.The fifth step that you’ll do, is you’ll want to look at competitive research. Now, what I want you to do is create a list of five social media accounts that are doing really well in your space. They don’t need to be exactly in your same industry but the closer they are the better. You’ll want to find accounts that cater to the same audience. What are the posts that are gaining the engagement versus the ones that aren’t? Or on TikTok, is there anything that they’ve done that they’ve posted that’s gone viral? And what’s the topic of that content? Why did that go viral? What are the posts that they posted that didn’t do well? Because that’s probably the stuff that you want to avoid. Step six, it’s time to create a list of the different content types that work best for each social media channel. Before you can actually start creating your plan and scheduling your content creation, it’s important to understand what works best in each channel. After you’ve done your audit and competitive research, this becomes much easier. Your goal is to list all the different types of content and which platforms they work best on, so that you can create a schedule that makes sense for each channel. Step seven, is to create a content calendar that encompasses the channels you want to focus on, and the content types that work best for each one of them. Now, that you already know, who’s your target audience, what makes them tick, and the type of content works best for each channel is time to start using that knowledge to come up with the schedule. You’ll want to use a tool like Hootsuite or Post Planner to organize your efforts to ensure that you’re on track to move forward as quick as possible so you get the results you’re looking for.
