The Milwaukee Common Council approved a resolution to expand the Bronzeville Cultural and Entertainment District on Jan. 21.The resolution, authored by Alderwoman Milele Coggs, would expand the district from Walnut Street to Burleigh Street and from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to 7th Street.According to Ald. Coggs, the purpose of the resolution is to help redefine the area as it relates to branding, marketing and identification as the redevelopment, promotional and marketing activities have extended beyond the original boundaries identified in the city’s legislation. The expansion will include areas commonly believed to be included in the district. The new boundaries would include the Harambee, Halyard Park and Brewers Hill neighborhoods. What we found through our work and development and marketing and promoting of the area is that the current legislative boundaries do not fit with how we have been operating or how the public sees Bronzeville,” said Alderwoman Coggs. “Bronzeville is a distinct cultural and entertainment district, so it is important that we update the districts boundaries to ensure that the continued redevelopment can happen organically within those boundaries.”The resolution was co-sponsored by Alderman Jose Perez, Alderman Robert Bauman, Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa and Alderman DiAndre Jackson.

There is a variety of products offered throughout each season as well. Craven said, We always have seasonal produce, salad mixes, micro greens, we always have meats that farmers bring in. We have local craft vendors and homemade bread, a little bit of everything.
