This event will center on a thought-provoking conversation moderated by Arthur Brooks, the Parker Gilbert Montgomery Professor of the Practice of Public and Nonprofit Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School, and Professor of Management Practice at the Harvard Business School.
The opening act will feature a performance from “The Lights,” a band featuring several Harvard Business School faculty members including Alison Wood Brooks, Ryan Buell, and Michael Norton.

Michael I. Norton is the Harold M. Brierley Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School.
He is the author of the forthcoming book, The Ritual Effect: From Habit to Ritual, Harness the Surprising Power of Everyday Actions. His research has been the answer to Final Jeopardy and has been parodied by the Onion. In 2012, he was selected for Wired Magazine’s Smart List as one of “50 People Who Will Change the World.” His TEDx talk, How to Buy Happiness, has been viewed more than 4.5 million times.
Dr. Norton’s research on topics ranging from the hazards of humble-bragging to the rewards of matchmaking and volunteering has been published in top academic journals as well as popular media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, CNN, Forbes, and the New York Times. He co-authored Happy Money with Elizabeth Dunn, which was named by the Washington Post as a “Book Every Leader Should Read.” He received his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Princeton University.
