People look out for special treasures at the Trader’s Market – Rapid City South Dakota news, weather, sports [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Nestled within Uptown Rapid, formerly the Rushmore Mall, the Traders Market is a hub for starting a business and a place where visitors find many interesting items. Much like other vendor halls, this indoor flea market provides a year-round platform for small businesses and artisans to connect with customers.

“It’s like going to the best garage sale ever!” said local shopper Sue Ackerman, “You get to meet everyone and see what they’re interested in. Buy something before going to buy new.”

In 2018, the Sears department store closed its doors in the then Rushmore Mall, raising concerns for the mall’s economic viability. However, in April of the following year, the Traders Market opened in the vacant venue.
