Edinburgh shoppers left in stitches after John Lewis unveils 242 ‘Jobby the cat’ lamp [Video]

Edinburgh shoppers have been left in stitches after John Lewis revealed a new piece of homeware – a £242 table lamp called Jobby the cat.

A viral post on social media suggested the department store hire one or two Scottish people in their branding team, reports the Daily Record. One Edinburgh resident said it was a ‘fair price’ for Jobby.

Posting on X, John Kilbride said: “If there’s any Scottish people looking for a job in branding or marketing, I think there’s a vacancy at John Lewis because there’s clearly no Scottish person working there at the moment.”

An Edinburgh local added: “If you thought Jobby the Cat was bad, wait until you see Keich the Kangaroo and Toley the Terrapin.”
