Awake Studio brings 70s nostalgia to Revival Records branding [Video]

Context

Christopher Peyton of “X Factor UK” fame approached Awake to create an identity for the house music label Revival Records, which he was about to launch. He pretty much had us immediately but when he added that he and his team had just recorded the first handful of tracks at the legendary Abbey Road studio, it was cemented. 

Seeing the behind-the-scene photos of the recording session at Abbey Road were a definite highlight of this project. If only we were able to be there in person. 

Methology

The label needed to have a vintage vibe, channeling a bit of 70s love while maintaining a contemporary feel at the same time. The nostalgic avocado green that was a ubiquitous 70s kitchen design staple rooted the design in the past while the typographic elements create a sense of modernity and relevance.
