Gena told me “Once you decide that something has to change you’ll need to have a plan about what it is you’re looking for because you shouldn’t run away from the job you should run towards the next opportunity … you should prepare the resume, you should do a side hustle but I think the most important thing that you should do is to start putting yourself around other people who are doing the things to which you aspire that does not have to be on a big scale … you should be reading what they read and say I want to be a marketer and you find a marketing association … they’re going to have free virtual meetings, sign up for everyone one of those free virtual meetings that are outside of your current work schedule and just start attending, you don’t have to contribute anything, you’re soaking it up.”
