In 2012 I had just resigned from my banking job, to go after my dreams of becoming a business owner.
The simple reason for this was born out of my experience of seeing how bankers after losing their jobs become really frustrated with life out here.
And in most cases a good number of them never get to recover from this shock until they die.
The worst part of it is how most of the ones I see hop in and out of one business or another with no results in sight.
That was scary for me especially after I lost my banking job in 2011 with the then prestigious BankPHB Plc.
The very few months I had outside banking thought me even worst lessons than I had imagined and had also seen with ex-bankers.
From then on, I resolved that when I get back on my feet again, I would save and ensure I leave the system while still young and strong and be able to start up a business for myself that would promise me a future devoid of that fear of ever losing my job again.
I can tell you that though the street knowledge and experiences hadn’t really been that cool until of recent, but when comparing both systems. The street or my entrepreneurial experience is by far better.
Starting out with nothing except the skills I acquired to building pockets of businesses that promises at least some level of self-comfort through the years wouldn’t have been possible without this giant step that I took.
I wouldn’t say there hasn’t been ups and downs. But on a larger scale, I’ve been successful with the dream I had.
