Your Question: Should you clean your email list? 😳

I’m not talking about pulling out the disinfectant and mop, “cleaning your list” refers to the practice of deleting subscribers that aren’t engaging in your newsletters.

Why the heck would you delete subscribers?! Just like fake followers on Instagram will negatively impact your organic reach, subscribers that don’t care about your content will impact the deliverability rate of your emails 🙄

Two things to look for…

1. Delete subscribers that have bounced consistently. Maybe their email is wrong or there are issues with the email client they use. Regardless, they’re not getting your emails so don’t pay more to send them!

2. Subscribers who haven’t engaged with your emails for a while. Depending on the email service provider you’ve chosen (ie: MailChimp vs Active Campaign) you might be able to see who hasn’t opened say your last 10 emails.

Hate to break it to you but people are NOT engaged but before you delete them… check out my last reel which shares strategies to re-engage subscribers. These ideas can be used to not only re-engage a list that you’ve ghosted or a group of subscribers that haven’t opened your emails .

Have you ever cleaned your list?
