Board Certified Coach (BCC)

This designation from the Center for Credentialing & Education offers professional certification to those with advanced degrees in behavioral sciences or counseling. The BCC is a certification that is based on extensive coursework and field experience.

Although the BCC isn’t required for every coach, it’s an attractive option to those who wish to have an independent third-party verification of their skills. In addition to a graduate degree, you’ll need a certain amount of work experience to meet the BCC requirements.

To become a BCC, you’ll need to complete at least 120 hours of training. Your options include the 30-hour Board Certified Coach Training program and the 60-hour course for master’s level social or behavioral science students.
