Candid feedback and why you should ask for it with Kim Scott [Video]

You know what they say about unsolicited advice (don’t give it!) but when it comes to SOLICITED feedback, author and executive coach Kim Scott says: bring it on. Kim believes that when it comes to improving your life at home, work, and anywhere in between, it helps to ask for – and provide – kind, but radical, candor. In this episode, Kim shares what she’s learned about embracing candidness and care in the workplace, gives tips on how to engage in constructive conversations, and opens up about the benefits of addressing bias in communication. Her latest book, “Just Work:How to Root Out Bias, Prejudice, and Bullying to Build a Kick-ass Culture of Inclusivity” is out now. Many people have a hard time understanding this, but this is due to the lengthy education, experience and licensing requirements. Unlicensed individuals may call themselves designers, project managers, job captains or anything else really works, but the word “Architect” or any derivative of the word “Architect” is off limits. Many state architectural registration boards do not allow people to use the term Architectural Designer, unless they are licensed. State architectural licensing boards regularly take action against unlicensed individuals calling themselves Architects or practicing without a license.Having an architecture license is not a prerequisite to having a successful career in architecture. Most people graduate Architecture school and have very successful careers without obtaining their license to practice.Architectural training is an extremely valuable education and can be used effectively inside and outside of the profession.Becoming an Architect: What You’ll Need to Know – https://youngarchitect.com/becoming-an-architect/Young Architect Guide: 21 Essential Tips for Emerging Architecture Professionals – https://architizer.com/blog/practice/details/young-architect-guide-candid-advice/FOLLOW USHigh-Level PodcastYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@AxelAxePodcastInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/highleveltvAxel Axe:YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/AxelArzola/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/axelaxeofficial/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/heyaxelarzola/Twitter: https://twitter.com/AxelAxeOfficialApple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/high-level/id1211324432?mt=2Amazon Podcasts: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/f68159ea-5236-4717-95ff-584888bb6083/high-levelSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1kp8muHXQBaFTG4wZZUPGU?si=NCPd6SxIQr6cBvuBGPllPA&nd=1Red Axe MediaWebsite: https://redaxemedia.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/redaxe.media/
