Lead Conversion Takes Time for New Patients [Video]

How long do prospective patients take before they book an appointment at your clinic? For some, it may be a relatively short time. For example, someone with an acute injury or problem may do a Google search, land on your website, and then book an appointment right then and there. However, that’s a relatively small number of patients, Most patients do research and explore their options before booking an appointment. They may ask for information, ask questions via chat/email, or even call the clinic to talk with staff first. They’ll also browse your website and content to determine whether you and your clinic has the solution to their problem. Just remember: Your job is not to convince a prospective client to book an appointment with you. Your job is to demonstrate clinic expertise and results so that these prospective patients come to their own conclusion about your ability to help them. It’s a totally different approach when implementing a direct-to-consumer marketing strategy in private practice. Patients that are referred to a specialist by their primary care physician typically book an appointment more quickly because they 1) are aware of their problem 2) have already made the decision to seek treatment and 3) have the recommendation from their doctor. Prospective patients that come to you via other methods like social media marketing and website traffic typically require increased time before they’re ready to make the decision to book an appointment.
