Moana 2’s streaming debut on Disney+ navigated the choppy waters to earn top billing in Nielsen’s Top 10 Overall Streaming chart for the week of March 10.
The Disney film nearly crossed the 2 billion viewing minutes mark, falling shy of that achievement with 1.995 billion for the week. Moana 2’s audience was truly a family/communal one, as 39% of its audience came from the kids 2-through-11 demographic, with another 42% of the movie’s watch time comprising the adults 18-through-49 demo. This suggests that either parents or caregivers were watching along with the kids.
According to Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings, Only three titles during the week of March 10 had more than 1 billion viewing minutes. Netflix had four titles in the top 10, two of them movies and one of the remaining titles having shared streaming distribution rights with Hulu.
