Small Business Administration officials finalize historic lender agreement in Alaska | Homepage [Video]

Officials from the U.S. Small Business Administration are in Alaska this week.

SBA officials met with Alaska Native corporations and leaders at Bristol Bay Native Corporation in Anchorage.

During the meeting, officials finalized the Small Business Lending Company lender agreement for McKinley Alaska Growth Capital.

McKinley Alaska Growth Capital is the first new small business lender in Alaska in 40 years.

“Our expanded partnership with McKinley Alaska Growth Capital means that even more small businesses in Alaska and beyond will be able to have access to capital to kind of take that courageous step of starting a business or growing a business because they’ve got the money to do so that they weren’t able to access before,” said Katie Frost with the Small Business Administration.

The Small Business Administration’s trip to Alaska isn’t over yet. Next, officials are heading to meet with leaders in Whittier.
