Youth who participated in the Squeegee Collaborative’s process expressed their need for guidance. Victoria Thompson, 18, grew up in east Baltimore, dropped out of school and started squeegeeing. She’s on the path toward finishing high school and starting a business to help youth going through similar circumstances. “We are not animals, we are human, and we need your help. We squeegee because we don’t have the money for the basic things like clothing and food. We want a better life, and we just want the guidance. We need the guidance to do something positive,” Thompson said.
