Milwaukee Common Council adopts resolution to expand Bronzeville District [Video]

The Milwaukee Common Council approved a resolution to expand the Bronzeville Cultural and Entertainment District on Jan. 21.The resolution, authored by Alderwoman Milele Coggs, would expand the district from Walnut Street to Burleigh Street and from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to 7th Street.According to Ald. Coggs, the purpose of the resolution is to help redefine the area as it relates to branding, marketing and identification as the redevelopment, promotional and marketing activities have extended beyond the original boundaries identified in the city’s legislation.The expansion will include areas commonly believed to be included in the district.
