How do you start a business? Aren’t there a hundred hoops to jump through? I can attest to Missouri; starting a business is easy…and it will only cost you $51.75 in total.
Getting an EIN is like having a Social Security number for yourself…except the EIN identifies the business entity instead of you (as an individual). It is the second step in starting a business (with the first step being to set up the legal structure with the Secretary of State).
Once you have obtained your EIN, you can bring that, along with the Articles of Organization for your business to a bank of your choice – where you will start a business checking account (so you can receive revenue in the Businesses’ name).
