Are you confident? Trustworthy? A strong leader? What about just competent?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, here’s another one for you — do other people also see you this way? You probably like to think they do, but in actuality, that’s not always the case.
In this video, I talk about how you can develop an executive presence. If you’re not familiar with the term, you’re at least familiar of what it looks like — the coworker who can command an audience and gains attention and respect when they enter a room; the company’s dependable leader who creates space for an open and honest dialogue with employees. All of this sounds like a tall order, but break it down and practice it in different steps, and you’ll be well on your way to having an executive presence of your own.
Specifically, I share ways you can develop an executive presence by:
1. Being present
2. Being clear about what you know (and what you don’t)
3. Making your integrity non-negotiable
4. Understanding your value
5. Having good posture
6. Creating emotional safety
