How do you develop resilience and change your mindset with executive coach Michael O’Brien

When life throws you curveballs and doesn’t go as planned, what are your reactions and response? Do you give up? Do you spend some time wading through defeat and disappointment before picking yourself back up?

For this week’s episode of the Weekend Wellness Hour show, we discussed resilience and mindset with executive coach Michael O’Brien. Michael was a healthcare executive suite leader whose life changed when he was hit head on by a speeding SUV during a bike ride.

Michael shared the physical trauma of his accident and the corresponding mental and emotional despair that followed, especially when his physicians gave him a grim future and told him he wouldn’t walk normally again.

After a good talk with a friend, he learned that he had to change his mindset. He had to focus on what he could change. He developed resilience.

Michael explained his process of Pause Breathe Reflect that helped him regain strength and mobility. He shared his comeback and his return to work and his life.

We touched on how to fight the resistance inside us that keeps us in our fears. Michael shared his mental process of small changes at a time to shift habits.

Michael is currently the Chief Shift Officer at Peloton Executive Coaching. He has shared his personal transformational Last Bad Day story and leadership advice on the TEDx stage, with Fortune 500 companies, Entrepreneur, Fast Company, Real Simple, ABC, and NBC.

Please join us to learn about resilience and how to change your mindset to have your last bad day!
