Josh York founded Gym Guyz, the fastest growing personal training franchise in The Unites States from his parents living room in 2008. Josh boot-strapped his way through sheer determination and hard work to now having over 250 locations internationally.
Josh and I squeeze the fat on starting a business amidst a global financial crisis, the importance of customer centric business focus and reducing people’s excuses to reduce their waist line. Josh recognised a gap in the market for home based personal training sessions when one of his clients suggested that it would be awesome if Josh could bring the workout to his house! The idea sparked the creation of Gym Guyz, a mobile personal training business. Its primary goal was to deliver personalised programs inhouse, thus reducing the inconsistencies of peoples training and delivered personalised results.
Josh opened up about having to pay wages when he didn’t have the cash in his account, how early mornings are a key to success, backing yourself is imperative to decision making and his motto “never give up” has gained him ranking on Entrepreneur Magazine’s fastest growing franchises list for 2020.
