Picture this: College Station city officials hosted a book launch party Monday evening to unveil a 160-page commemorative coffee table-style book featuring over 200 images of the city.
“And They Called it College Station: A Visual History” was produced in-house by city staff and is now on sale for $40 at Visit College Station.

When city councilors commissioned the book in 2023, the $60,000 printing price created sticker shock. That’s when members of the city staff suggested they could do it much cheaper in-house. Ultimately it cost $21,000 to print 500 copies, saving the city about $40,000.
