Box Hill United FC Celebrates History and Future at Season and Book Launch [Video]

Box Hill United FC officially kicked off their 2025 season on Sunday night with a celebration of the club’s rich 100-plus-year history and an exciting look ahead to its future.

Unlike a typical season-opening event, attendees were treated to the highly anticipated launch of A Century of Soccer – The History of Box Hill’s Soccer Clubs 1922-2025, a book written by the late Lynne Harper and her son Kyle Patterson.

The comprehensive publication chronicles more than a century of soccer in Box Hill, from the club’s foundation in 1922 and its first official match in 1925, through to the present day. It tells the story of five interconnected clubs, tracing an unbroken lineage through:

• Box Hill Soccer Club (1925-1991)
• Box Hill Inter (1992-1996)
• Box Hill Inter Juniors (1992-2010)
• Box Hill Inter Women (2001-2010)
• Box Hill United FC (2011-present)
