Social media app BeReal is opening up an ad business in the U.S.
BeReal exploded in popularity with Gen Z in 2022 and was acquired by French mobile game company Voodoo last year for €500 million ($547 million). While significantly smaller than Gen Z favorites TikTok or Instagram, BeReal claims to have 40 million monthly users globally, with 5 million of those users in the U.S.
The U.S. expansion follows the launch of BeReal ads in Europe and Japan last summer. More than 200 brands like Levi’s have run ads on the app since then.
