Powell’s Books at Cedar Hills Crossing welcomes Hugo, Nebulo and Locus Award-Winning Author Mary-Robinette Kowal to discuss her new release, The Martian Contingency. Kowal returns to Mars in the final installment of her Lady Astronaut series and expertly weaves both science and historical accuracy into this alternate-history adventure.

BMI is proud to support Song Arts Academys six-week Songwriters Workshop starting Tuesday, May 6, in person and simultaneously live on Zoom. Seasoned and developing songwriters will acquire new and competitive writing skills using SAAs Advanced Song Craft and re-writing tools designed to unmask the creative codes driving todays hit songs. Members will write and rewrite five original songs during the workshop using momentum strategies and other advanced skill sets designed to utilize the melodic and lyrical techniques used in contemporary pop. Taught by SAA founder, Billy Seidman, author of The Elements of Song Craft, workshop alumni include hit songwriters, GRAMMY winners and major-label artists, and is a proven learning destination for songwriters.
