MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) -You’ve been hearing about Apple’s leap into artificial intelligence for its iPhone 16 lineup for months now. The news was first announced at Apple’s September hardware event in 2024.
The phones ultimately arrived without the tech, but it’s been slowly rolling out on compatible devices through iterations of iOS 18.
The first set of features included gradients to indicate the presence of AI, the ability to change the tone of an email, and a photo clean-up tool that lets AI eliminate distractions.
Now, we’re up to the latest update, iOS 18.3 that comes with added AI tools like Visual Intelligence to help users learn about objects and places instantly, thanks to the new Camera Control on the iPhone 16 lineup. Visual intelligence can summarize and copy text, translate text between languages, detect phone numbers or email addresses with the option to add to contacts, and more.
