How Much Time Should You Spend on SEO in Order to Rank #1? [Video]

A key to SEO is setting realistic expectations. If you want to rank at the top, you should know this. Today I’m going to break down how much time you should spend on SEO in order to rank number one.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/Hello Bar: https://www.hellobar.com/OptinMonster: https://optinmonster.com/____________________________________________If you want to grow slow and steady, spend three to six hours doing research and creating content per week. Spend four hours in competitive research per month to identify new opportunities with keywords you are still not targeting, but that aren’t too competitive. I want you to spend another four hours optimizing for technical SEO per month. And you can do this through the Ubersuggest Site Audit report. And if you want to grow aggressively, right, not slow and steady, but you want to grow aggressively, I want you to spend three hours a day doing research and creating content. Spend a minimum of one hour per day, doing Link Building and Content Promotion. If you create a lot of content, you don’t ever promote it, you’re just not going to get the traffic no matter how good your content is. And then you need to spend at least three hours per week writing emails for your email subscribers and scheduling them. And you can use tools like Hello Bar for that. You can use tools like OptinMonster for them. And you want to spend a minimum of three hours creating and scheduling content for your strongest social media platforms. Right, these platforms that you’re already doing well on, and you want to focus your attention on that. You could spend all your time on all the platforms out there, but we all know there’s not enough time in the day for that. So do you want to know how I spend my time on SEO with the site that’s already established? Well, the way I spend my time is every single week I go onto Ubersuggest and I look for keyword opportunities. So on Ubersuggest I can type in my domain name, neilpatel, and there’s a report that looks at competitive domains and it shows me all the other competing domains. The keywords that I rank on that they also rank for. Then I also look for all the keywords that they rank for, that I don’t rank for. And then I start looking at those keywords and seeing if they’re related enough for me to create content around. And then I start creating content around those pages. And if you also have established website like me, the other big group of time that I spent a lot of energy on is I go onto Google search console. And I look for all the pages that are getting less traffic quarter over quarter, year over year. And if I can see trends of pages declining in traffic, I look for the keywords that are actually declining related to those pages. The next thing that I spend time on is I make sure that my site is buttoned up from on-page SEO perspective. It doesn’t matter how much content creation that you have, or how much Link Building generation that you’re doing. If Google can’t crawl your website, you’re screwed. So I just make sure that my site’s buttoned up. And if you create a project in Ubersuggest, it’ll automatically run a weekly site audit and tell you when there’s new errors that you need to fix and it shows them to you. So just fix those in priority because the ones that Ubersuggest presents first are the ones that you should fix first. Because they’ll have the biggest impact in growing your traffic. And the last thing that I spend my time on when it comes to SEO, believe it or not, is collecting tons and tons of email. I found that if I build a brand, they call it the rule of seven in marketing. When someone sees or interacts with your brand seven times, they’re much more likely to evangelize it, buy your product, tell other people about it. So by collecting emails, putting out more lead magnets, maybe blocking off part of my blog posts and say, put in your email to read the rest, by putting off free tools that allow me to collect emails and then sending out email blast. Now, one thing that my team spends a lot of time on that I don’t, but this has helped my rankings is my team goes and updates a lot of my old content. And they just make sure it’s fresh and up-to-date, and still relevant. And by doing that, we continue to maintain and grow on our SEO traffic. And that’s how established website should continually spend their time. You can also add in a lot of other tasks, but that’s where we spend the majority of our time to maintain and grow our traffic If you need help growing your business check out my ad agency Neil Patel Digital @ https://neilpateldigital.com/ Subscribe: https://goo.gl/ScRTwc to learn more secret SEO tips.Find me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/neilkpatel/On Instagram: https://instagram.com/neilpatel/https://youtu.be/ws26duw7mAw

How Al is Changing Marketing and SEO (And How to Use it In Your Business) [Video]

Wouldn’t it be cool if AI did your marketing for you? Well, now it can. Today, I’m going to break down how AI is changing marketing and SEO. Look, technology has made marketing easy. Today, I want to share some of those tools that can make your life easier, and also talk about the future of AI in marketing.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Morphio.ai: https://morphio.ai/Marketbrew: https://www.marketbrew.com/Jarvis.ai: https://www.jarvis.ai/Clearscope: https://www.clearscope.io/Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________So let’s go over some of the tools first. Tool number one, Morphio.ai. It’s a monitor and analysis tool that uses AI. It’ll tell you when something is wrong with your paid ad budgets. This is super important because look, as an SMB or even an enterprise company, you all have budget. You don’t want something to go over. So let’s say you’re spending all this money on advertising, and you’re having people help you out. If you’re testing out a thousand different places or a hundred, I know I’m going to the extreme, if ones aren’t working out, you don’t want to keep spending money. Even if your whole campaign is profitable, but there’s certain parts of the campaign that aren’t profitable. But the ones that are profitable are picking them up. You want to stop the underperforming ones so you can spend more money on the placements that are performing. That way, you’d make even more profit. So check out that tool. Tool number two, marketbrew. It’s an automated SEO AI tool, and here’s what I mean by this: It’s a search engine that can calibrate itself to be like any search engine that you want it to be. So it’s definitely worth checking out cause it’ll help you avoid some of the mistakes. Now grant it, it’s not going to be identical to Google’s algorithm cause they make roughly eight plus changes a day. But, it’ll give you a a good idea of what’s going to work and what’s not going to work. Tool number three, Jarvis.ai. Content creation tools, especially ones that are using AI, are not perfect. But, they do save you a lot of time. What if, tools helps with your titles, your outlines, and even paragraphs, and you just have to go in and put some keywords. It’ll help set up all this content for you, and then you just had to go in and make it better. That’s what Jarvis.ai does. It’ll give you a head start, and it can save you, sometimes, half the time when it comes to creating content which is huge. Especially if you hate writing content. Tool number four, clearscope. This will help you get more traffic from your writing. And that’s cause clearscope helps you produce content that’s highly relevant to what people are searching for. It helps you determine, what topics you should focus on, as well as the writing aspect of your content creation. Such as headings, keywords that you should use within your content to also get the most traffic. Cause remember, if you use tools like Ubersuggest to do your keyword research which you should, it’s not just about those head terms. That’s when Ubersuggest we have those keyword ideas cause there’s all these other longed out keywords that you need to use as well. Now that we covered some tools that you should try, here’s where marketing and AI is going in the future. With SEO, people like me at Ubersuggest, we have teams of people working on AI machine learning where you can put java script on your website, and it just does all your SEO for you. So you don’t have to end up changing any aspect of your on page code and the tool will do it for you. We’re even trying to use machine learning and we’re running experiments on our end to figure out if we can even matching build links to do the outreach for you, all automated as if it was humans, and actually get you linked without having a human do it. And with marketing, you’re going to see AI integrated into all forms of marketing. Now it doesn’t mean that all the AI is going to replace humans cause humans can do a lot of creative thinking and is yet to be seen if AI can do the same type of creative skills. Especially when it comes to marketing campaigns. But, it can make it worth more efficient and you don’t need as many people to get the same job done. A Realistic Approach to SEO For Busy Solo Entrepreneurs [Video]

SEO’s tough and usually requires a big team. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a way to do SEO, when you’re a solo entrepreneur? Look, there is. Today I’m going to break down a realistic approach to SEO for busy solo entrepreneurs.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________If you don’t have a big team or any team for that matter of fact, I want you to focus just on two things. Number one, optimizing existing content and number two, creating new content. So let’s go over optimizing existing content first. First, use the Google search console. Google search console will show you, Hey, what content is getting impressions and which content is getting clicks and also shows your click-through rate. And I want you to improve your click-through rate and the way you end up doing that is look at the keywords that are sitting on page two. Are those keywords in your title tag? Are they within your meta description? Is your title tag and meta-description, you know, very relevant from an appealing perspective. Think of copywriting. The next thing I like doing is putting in the keywords that you’re seeing in Google search console within to those pages as well. So now that you just put them in your title tag and meta description, also put them within the content. Second use Ubersuggest. Ubersuggest has a rank tracking feature that you can get started for free and you can see which ones of your keywords are getting more traction and less traction over time. It’ll tell you which keywords are getting more traction on mobile or even desktop device, or even in certain regions. Another feature I want you to use in Ubersuggest is a content ideas report. This shows you all the other people that have content around similar keywords, like your competitors, and really make sure you there are social shares and the backlinks and the headlines that they’re using. Third, use Google analytics. I want you to improve your dwell time. I want you to identify the content pieces that are underperforming and consolidate them with the pages that are doing well on the same topic. Now let’s go over creating new content. First, let’s find keyword opportunities that you can rank for. Go to Ubersuggest, use a keyword ideas report, you can find in the left-hand navigation, and type in keywords related to your space. Then I want you to go to the competitive analysis report in Ubersuggest. This is where you can put it in a competitor URL. It’ll show you their top pages by traffic show you the social shares for those pages and it’ll even show you all the keywords that the competitor’s page ranks for. And then you can go over to their site and look at that page and be like, whoa, this is the content that they have. I can create something way better than this.Second, let’s analyze your competitors for new keywords you want to target. You’ll see a report within Ubersuggest in the competitive analysis that just shows you all the keywords your competitors rank for.The next feature in Ubersuggest you should check out is the SERP analysis within the keyword ideas report. And this will give you an idea of, Hey, this is how I create content that covers the whole topic. Now that we’re going away from Ubersuggest what I want you to also focus on is writing content that is at least 50% better than everyone else who’s ranking for that keyword. Now last but not least, I want to wrap up this video by covering a few other things that you should know. On-page SEO will produce better outcomes if you’re managing an older website. In the early days, you could pretty much solve your on-page SEO by just decreasing your load time. And as you create new content, you want to work on your title tags, meta-description tags, heading tags, which just helps you rank. You want to have a site map. And make sure that your robots are at TXT or your meta-tags, you’re not blocking any of the major crawlers or any pages that you shouldn’t be blocking. And when it comes to creating content, you should be spending two to eight hours per week, depending on how competitive your niche is and how amazing your content needs to be in order to outperform your competition. If your site’s really big, you could actually spend a lot of time on on-page SEO and it could be a daily thing. You may have people full-time focused on it. Advice Every Online Business Owner Should’ve Heard Before Starting SEO [Video]

SEO’s great, but before you really invest a lot into it, there’s something you should know. Today I’m going to break up advice every online business owner should hear before starting SEO. Look, SEO’s long-term. You need other traffic sources to make money before you succeed with SEO. RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________CodeCanyon: https://codecanyon.net/Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________Now, let’s go over what you need to generate sales now, which will make you cash so you can then take that cash and invest in SEO. It doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t start doing SEO right now because in the future, is one of the highest ROI marketing channels out there. But still you need to start doing stuff right now to generate those sales because you can’t wait six months, or a year, or two years depending on the keywords you’re going after to really get the results. First, you need to learn how to convert visitors into buyers. If you can’t convert visitors into buyers, then it doesn’t matter how much traffic you get. And if you can’t get your conversion rate high enough, the economics won’t work out, especially with paid advertising because the costs are continually rising, especially after COVID. You don’t really need a billion dollars for engineering when you’re a startup, but you do need it to scale your sales and marketing. And you need to have a conversion funnel with upsells and downsells. That’s how you get the most out of your revenue. The upsells and downsells, the key with that is speed and automation. And as long as you’re producing results, people gladly take you off those upsells and downsells. Second thing that you need to know. Search engines give older websites more authority and more placement. Now there’s no guarantee that if you’re older website, you have more authority in your website because you could be a brand new hot website that every wants a link to it talk about, but that’s usually not the case. Typically the older sites have much more authority. And no matter how much money you have, you can’t easily buy that age. You just have to be patient. And that’s the thing with SEO. It is super effective. The ROI is massive and that’s why we have one of the fastest 500 growing companies according to “E Magazine”, because SEO works for customers and our results are proven.Third don’t take short-term gains for long-term losses. So doing what’s best for your customers wins in the long run. Fourth, create a better mouse trap, as marketing is becoming too expensive. Look, I’m a marketer and I’m telling you, it’s just going to keep going up and up. So you’ve got to figure out a better mouse trap. And you can do some things that are very similar to sites like CodeCanyon that can help you put tools on your website, which can help you get traffic and you’d give away stuff for free, and you can buy some of these tools for 10, 20, 30, $40. They’re not going to be as good as what Zillow did or what I did, but it’s a start. And then over time you can invest more money to making it better. NOT Every Keyword is Worth Pursuing in SEO (Here’s Why) [Video]

Just because a keyword gets a lot of traffic, it doesn’t mean it’s worth going after. Today I’m going to break down, how not every keyword is worth pursuing an SEO and why.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________Going after keywords that are too competitive is a waste of time, specially if you have a low domain authority. Look, if you’re going after keywords like credit cards and your brand new site, your chance of ranking are slim to none, you’re going to spend all this time and effort and money to try to get there, and you’re not going to get the results anytime soon. You’re better off going after keywords that can provide quicker results, and then once you’re getting some rankings, you’re generating some traffic, some revenue, then in the long run, you can invest after those harder terms that take longer to rank for. Before I dive in with the tactics, I’ve got a quick stop for you. I get over 9 million visitors a month, but less than .1%, not 1%, I’m saying .1% of those visitors, ever become a customer. High volume keywords don’t mean much to go after if they don’t have the correct intent. So how do you find out the right keywords to go after? Well, step one, go to Uber suggests. Step two, type in the keyword related to your industry. Step three, you’ll see a report that loads on Ubersuggest that just has overview on the traffic and some stars of the keyword. In the left hand navigation I want you to click on the keyword Ideas report. And when you click on the Keyword Ideas report, you’ll see a button on the very right called Keywords I Can Rank For. If you don’t see it, that means you need a log in. It’s free to log in. And once you log in, you can put in your domain name. And when you put it in your domain name, Ubersuggest will analyze your site and show you that an appropriate list of keywords that you can target, that you actually have a shot of ranking for and the shorter timeframe versus waiting years to get rankings for. Now filter the base on the intent of what is relevant to your proctor services that you’re selling. And what you’ll find is Ubersuggest will break down if a keyword is easy to rank for or hard to rank for. Ideally target the ones that are the easiest to rank for, because it’ll show as your difficulty score. Even though you have a list of all the keywords that you can rank for, pick the ones that are not just the most relevant to your business, but pick the ones that have the lowest SEO difficulty score. That means you’ll be able to get the results faster. That’s what I want you to start doing. Now the next thing I want you to do is that you go to the Site Audit Report within Ubersuggest. If you’re starting off with SEO, it’s not all about traffic, it’s all about ranking for the right keywords that drive a results in the short run so that you will have more money to invest in more long-term marketing approaches. With the Site Audit report, put in your URL, it’ll break down all the Errors, what you need to fix, what’s the most crucial, what is more suggested and isn’t as crucial, how fast your website’s loading, load speeds are really important factor because more people are browsing your website or pretty much the internet these days off of mobile devices than they are on desktop devices. And what’s cool with the Ubersuggest audit report is, it breaks out each and every single error in priority. What I mean by that is the ones listed at the top show you “hey, you need to fix these errors first because they’ll have the biggest impact on your rankings and track.” And then you second, third, fourth. So just knock them all down in order. The last thing I want you to do is go create a project within Ubersuggest. So go to your dashboard, add a project, put in your URL, and put in the keywords that you want to rank for, and that you’re targeting. You know, at the beginning, maybe not week over week or day over day, but in the long run, quarter over quarter, you’ll definitely see your rankings go up and if you fast forward a little bit, you’ll start seeing your rankings go up to page one and page two. 10 EASY SEO IDEAS That Will BLOW UP Your Traffic in 2021 [Video]

SEO doesn’t have to be hard. There are simple ways to grow your traffic. Today, I’m going to break down 10 easy SEO ideas that’ll blow up your traffic in 2021. RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________3 SEO Trends in Automation for 2021 (Trend #3 Is Coming Sooner Than You Think): https://youtu.be/Dv-44E0lPogThe Biggest Impact on SEO: https://youtu.be/DKPT6vaWcWkUbersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________Number one, combine pages around the same topics. Here’s what people don’t know. If you have two pages that are on link building and they cover pretty much the same exact thing, Google won’t know which page to rank. Sometimes if you’re lucky, you can get both of them to rank, but in many cases, they’ll go back and forth, it confuses Google. So what you’re better off doing is combining the pages, combine the content, having one more detailed page, and then you should get higher rankings. If you don’t know which page has more authority, you can just put in your URL into Ubersuggest and then in the backlinks report, it’ll show you which one has more links and more authority. Number two, delete underperforming pages. It’s better to have a handful of pages that drives a ton of traffic than having a site with a million pages that drive very little to no traffic. Number three, search for the keywords that you’re trying to rank for or already rank for on Google. Look at the Google ads. If you look at the Google ads, that’ll give you ideas for your title tags. See people used to believe that if you want to rank at the top, it’s all about keywords in your title tag and your meta description.Number four, create infographics from articles that have high social share counts. So you can use Ubersuggest. It has a content ideas report. Anytime you put a keyword into Ubersuggest, it tells you, “Hey, here’s all the traffic for this keyword,” but in the left-hand navigation, there’s this content ideas report. If you click on that, it’ll tell you all the blog posts around the web that are popular, based on social shares, search traffic, backlinks. Number five, create video content on your top performing content pieces. Look, yes, Google is the most popular search engine, but what most people don’t know YouTube is the second most popular search engine. So take your best performing articles and create videos like I’m doing here and pop them up on YouTube. Number six, send link juice to pages that are sitting on page two or three of the SERPs. So on Ubersuggest, you can track your rankings and it’ll show you, for your website, what keywords you’re ranking for, what page you are and what position. Look at all the ones that are on page two and page three, positions 11 through 20 or 11 through 30, and what I want you to do is see if you can link to those pages from other relevant pages within your site. That’s called internal linking. Number seven, create “Best” related articles. Here’s what I mean by “Best” related articles. Anytime you do a search for like toaster ovens or tools, or SEO tools or credit cards, you always see like the best 10 credit cards. the best 10 toaster ovens, the best 10 toaster tools, the best 47 SEO tools, and the list goes on and on.Number eight, implement AMP pages. So AMP is a form of accelerated mobile pages and what it does is it just makes your content load faster for mobile devices. I’ve implemented AMP on my site and what I’ve found is in the United States, in certain regions, it doesn’t really do much for my traffic, but in regions like Brazil, where I have my content translated, I found that adding AMP helped me get more traffic. Number nine, use structured markup. This will help increase your chances of getting SERP snippets. You know whenever you search for something and then you see a little blurb at the top and Google’s just pulling from it, that’s an example of SERP snippets. Number 10, leverage backlink opportunities on Ubersuggest. Because if someone’s willing to link to three, four of your competitors, the chances are, if you hit them up, they’ll be willing to link to you as well, versus trying to hit up all these sites that don’t link to any of your competitors, and when you hit those people up, they’re going to be like, “Hey, why do I want to link to you? Again, if someone links to three or four of your competitors, the chances are they’ll link to you and this Ubersuggest backlinks opportunity report shows you all the opportunities for you to easily get links. The Easiest Way to Get More SEO Traffic [Video]

What if there was a easier way to get SEO traffic to your website than writing thousands and thousands of articles? Today I’m going to break down the easiest way to get SEO traffic.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________As you can see on my screen here, I’m logged into my Google Search Console. And I want to show you something really interesting. If I click the NEW button so I can filter more, I can go to Search appearance, then click on Videos. This is going to show me how much traffic I’m getting from things like videos, right, because I filtered down.So over the years, I figure that, hey, I need to stop producing just content to get quote-unquote traffic. I need to get more relevant traffic because I don’t really help people with Instagram marketing from a business standpoint, but my ad agency NP Digital does help with things like SEO tools or growth hacking. So we started focusing on videos that don’t just bring traffic, but bring quote-unquote our ideal customer. Nonetheless, as you can see here, I’ve gotten quite a bit of clicks from Google just from video SEO. And I also have Ubersuggest, so that helps with that. “How to Track and Improve Your Rankings.” Again, doesn’t have the volume that, let’s say, Instagram followers has, but it can bring the ideal customers. That can help me generate more sales and more revenue for my ad agency. But the key is I don’t just publish my content on YouTube. I’m also publishing it on my own website, and it’s driving a lot of traffic. I have content on WordPress, daily SEO tasks. I even have reels that I’ve been testing on YouTube, or shorts as they would call it on YouTube. Instagram’s more reels. And I just produce tons of video content each and every single week. And I don’t really do much to optimize it, right? I’m using all the code. I’m just making sure how’s my site, how’s all the schema markup, stuff like that. Lets Google know what type of content I’m using. But the point I’m trying to make is just go and create video content and publish it on your blog. It’s not that competitive. You can rank for a lot of stuff because what Google’s doing is they’re including it in the results, so not only do you have a chance of ranking for text, but, hey, there’s not as many people creating videos, so it’s not as competitive. And what I would recommend that you do is do your keyword research. So if you go to app.neilpatel.com, and you’re just like, “All right, I’m in the digital marketing space.” So you can go load up the Ubersuggest tool, which you can find at app.neilpatel.com, and you can type in keywords related to anything. So I can type in digital marketing. And once you type in keywords like this, you’ll see the search volume. Don’t worry about the SEO difficulty or the CPC. Typically, though, the higher the CPC, the more lucrative that term is going to be. And go create content all these popular terms. You can even create a video on digital marketing agency, digital marketing jobs, digital marketing company. So in essence, what you want to do is you want to view all the keyword ideas, continually find more and more keywords that have good volume and high CPC. So digital marketing agency, way higher CPC than a lot of the other keywords here, which is great. And once you find the keywords that you like, you can just keep track of ’em. So I would add agency, company, digital marketing company, let’s see, services, strategy, courses. I would add those to a list. So in Ubersuggest, you can add it to a list. And I can create a list. Let’s go create a new one. So I can create one on YouTube video ideas. I click plus. And now those keywords are going to be added to this keyword list than I can get in the left-hand navigation side. So then I can keep track of all the keywords that I need to go and create a YouTube video on. And if you just leverage this simple strategy over time, you can keep getting more and more traffic. So it’s not just about going after volume. You want to go after volume with high CPCs that are related to your business. And don’t forget the related to your business part because if you do that, then you’ll get the views of the right audience and convert them into customers. How to Boost Your SEO Traffic with Sleeper Content (And Stop Promoting Worthless Content) [Video]

You look at all these SEO tools out there, whether it’s Ubersuggest, Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz, and you type in a keyword, like I typed in marketing tools here, and you’ll see a SEO difficulty number which tells you how hard it is to rank for that keyword on Google. Now, this data is pulled through backlinks, but how can you figure out if a keyword is really easy or not to rank without going through all the effort of promoting the content? Today I’m going to break down how you can increase your traffic through sleeper content.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Ubersuggest (Free SEO tool): https://ubersuggest.com/How to Do SEO For A Tiny Site With No Backlinks (video): https://youtu.be/Y772PSqmudoMy Favorite SEO Hack to Increase Website Traffic (video): https://youtu.be/WTWZQ_4_zNk____________________________________________As I mentioned earlier, if you use a SEO tool and you type in any keyword, whether it’s marketing tools or even just something like marketing, you’ll see how difficult it is to rank for a keyword. And some of these keywords are really easy to rank for. Some of them are much harder to rank for. But does that mean that you can’t rank for these keywords if you don’t have a ton of backlinks? No, that’s not the case, and the reason being is Google uses many factors. Links are just one aspect of it. Traffic without putting tones of effort through sleeper content. So let’s head over to the neilpatel.com website. As you can see here, here’s my homepage. Scroll down, a little bit about me. And then now let’s go to the blog where you can find all my content. Now I’m going to show you my content. I want you to see what’s off, okay. Some have little to no comments, like 12 or 8. But why is that? Why are some posts doing extremely well and others aren’t? Well, I’m going to share a little secret with you. The posts that tend to have a lot of comments I promote. I push on social media, like Facebook, Instagram, videos, and my live sessions. I’ll cross-link to them more. I even do email blasts, push notification blasts. I give a ton to promote them so that way people get to know that content, they want to share that content, and hopefully it ranks higher. But you can only send so many email blasts in a day. You can only send so many push notification blasts. You can only promote so many posts on Facebook on your fan page before your audience gets irritated that you’re sharing five pieces of content a day. So let me tell you a little secret on what I do. I create a ton of sleeper content. I’ll cross-link. I’ll promote it more. I’ll try to build links by manually outreaching to sites. I’ll push it on social media. I may even do the email blast. But what I’m doing is I’m creating tones of content and publishing it. But most of my content that I publish like that, this is what I call sleeper content, which if you’re publishing it, you’re not really telling too many people about it, you’re not marketing it, it doesn’t all rank. A lot of these pages that I’m writing content on aren’t ranking in the top 10 results or top 10 pages on Google. But a good portion of them are, and all I’m doing is just publishing content. The moment it gets to page two, I’ll start doing more marketing to try to get it to page one. And really what I’m looking at is not if it hits page two. I’m looking to see if it hits the top of page two or bottom of page one. I’ve been doing this strategy for years. It works really well. And you probably haven’t seen a lot of this content because I don’t push it out in email blasts or social media mentions, but it works really well, and that’s how I’ve grown my traffic to millions of visitors a month. So let me know your thoughts. Curious if you like this strategy.
