Today, I’m going to break down the only features you need to use in SEO tools.Don’t get bogged down by reports and features and tools. That do very little to actually get you more rankings. And you can do literally most of this stuff for free in Ubersuggest. That’s what’s great. So in that sense, we’ll go down the four main features you need to use and how you can do it for free. So, let’s dive right in. Number one, Rank Tracking, Look, on Google, if you don’t know what your rankings are, if they’re going up or if they’re going down, or how things are improving or declining, how are you going to improve? Those things are really important, right? Be here’s the thing with SEO, it’s a long game.And Rank Tracking shows you that, and it can track your rankings on a daily basis and a weekly basis, whatever you prefer. And you can even track your rankings on mobile devices and desktop. You can do the all in Ubersuggest for free. And what’s cool about that is that way you can see how you’re performing on different device types. And it tells you when you’re doing SEO, what’s working and what isn’t. The second thing that you need to look at with these SEO tools is Competitive Analysis. Competitive Analysis tells you what your competitors are doing and what’s working for them. Look, you don’t want to recreate the wheel. You want to do what’s working for others, and just do it better. Why start from scratch?And what’s cool is, you can see the keywords by clicking on the Keywords button and you’ll see all the keywords that that page ranked for. And that’ll tell you, hey, should I also create a page that’s very similar. Well, if I do, now I know what keywords to go after because it’s related to my business and it can also drive me sales. And another cool feature is you can also see all the backlinks that are driven to that page. All the other sites that are link into your competitor’s page. Because here’s the thing, if someone wants to link to your competitor, they’re probably willing to link to you too. So now, you got a list of links going to your competitors. So, you can create a better page than that’s more thorough, go after all their keywords, and you can also hit up all the people linking to them and ask them to link to you too. The other cool thing that I like about the Competitive Analysis report on Ubersuggest, you can see how much traffic your competitors getting. If they’re getting more traffic month over month or less traffic month over month, because Google is doing so many updates.The third report that you need to look at and feature within these SEO tools is Keyword Ideas. Now, the Keyword Ideas report in Ubersuggest gives you all these ideas that you can go after. So, you want to go after popular keywords. And what’s cool about the Ubersuggest Keyword Ideas report, you can actually filter it by some any region, such as United States or Canada, or UK, or India, or Brazil, or even South Korea. And within the Keyword Ideas report in Ubersuggest, there’s also a Content Ideas report. What that’ll show you all the content that you can write about that are related to those keywords. So, you can see what’s popular on Facebook, what’s popular on Pinterest, what’s popular from the backlinks perspective, and what’s even popular from an organic SEO perspective. The last factor, and this is number four, is Backlinks. If you don’t get people linking to you, you’re not going to do well. Backlinks are like votes. So, you want to get ideally bigger sites linking to you and more relevant sites. And you can use the Backlinks report within Ubersuggest. And what’s cool is they have a Backlink Opportunity report more specifically, where you can put in your URL and then your competitor URLs. And it’ll show you all the people that linked to your competitors, but don’t link to you. Because if someone links to not just one but two, three, four of your competitors and they don’t link to you, the chances are they don’t mind linking to other people in your space because they’re already linked to lots of your competitors. Normally, we’re going to go over each of them in detail, but I’ll also tell you which plugins to use. So you don’t have to worry about the details and you don’t have to learn any coding. Factor number one, site speed and performance optimization. Now, before I dive into the main points on this, here’s why it’s important. If your site loads slower, what you’ll find is your conversion rates drop.Now there’s a few things that affect your site load time. Cache, that’s where people don’t have to keep loading up your images. And they know that you’re saving the same ones over and over again, so they cache them. CDN stands for content delivery network.So that way, whenever someone’s visiting your site from the UK, you don’t have to, you know, crawl through the broadband, pipes underneath the sea to visit your site. What they’ll do is they’ll just ping a server in the UK so that way just loads faster.Then there’s lazy load. You know when you go to a site and you scroll down, there’s no need for them to load up all the images at once. Instead, they should load them as you scroll so that way you can improve the experience. JavaScript, sometimes if you have too much JavaScript on your site, it can slow things down.Now the second factor that you need to pay attention to is technical SEO. Look, if Google can’t crawl your page and understand what’s on your page or able to read the content on your site. How are you going to rank for anything? And that’s why technical SEO is super important. Everyone talks about link building, and you need all these links, new content, and they’re right. You do need links. You do need content. But if Google still can’t crawl your website, understand the content on the page, and read the code. Then it doesn’t really matter how many links you have. You’re not going to really rank for much. The AMP framework just makes it so that way your pages load faster on mobile devices specifically for text-based articles. You also want to check your redirects. There’s 301 redirects, 302 redirects. One’s permanent, one’s temporary, but that can because the bots to go around in circles if they’re doing, if you’ve done your redirects wrong. Third point, content marketing. Look, if you write content, no matter how amazing it is, if no one reads it, no one sees it. You’re not going to do well. So you got to really focus on the marketing of that content and making sure that your content is buttoned up as well. So a few factors. Push notifications, you know, in your browser, whenever you’re on, searching on the web, especially if you’re a Facebook user. It will be like, oh, it’s Neil’s birthday. And they’ll show you this little notification box that comes up. Clicking on that is a push notification. And you can actually send that out on your website. So that way you can get more visitors. Then there’s grammar. No one wants to read content that’s just poorly written. So make sure you check your grammar and fix it. Because Google’s like at the source in a dictionary, they know what’s good spelling, bad spelling, great grammar, bad grammar. If you’re writing, I love using Grammarly. That helps me a lot because I have terrible grammar. Then you got your social sharing. You know, even though Facebook reach isn’t that great compared to what it was years ago, still better than nothing. You know, you still want to share that content on Facebook and Twitter and LinkedIn and any other social site that’s applicable to your website. And of course, you want to collect emails. The next factor, security. These days we’re all worried about privacy and security. You don’t want hackers to inject malicious code into your website or publish fake content on your website. And it happens. So that’s super important for you to avoid. So with security, you know, we did mention SSL earlier, but there’s also a few other plugins that can help like, Sucuri and Wordfence. How To COMPLETELY RECOVER Your Lost SEO Traffic [Video]

Lost some of your SEO traffic? No worries. There’s a solution for that. Today, I’m going to teach you how to recover your loss SEO traffic. It’s a penalty indicator. So you can go to that URL and it’ll show you if your traffic loss is related to Google algorithm update. In addition to that, I want you to check Google search console for a manual penalty. Because if you have a manual penalty and they tell you what it’s for, you need to fix that as well. Now, if you have a traffic drop from a specific algorithm update, it doesn’t mean there’s a penalty necessarily, right? It just means Google had just set algorithm that sometimes you’ll gain more traffic, sometimes you lose some traffic, sometimes you stay roughly the same.The first thing you need to do is go to Ubersuggest and run an SEO audit. So there’s a site audit feature within Ubersuggest. And what it’ll do is it’ll break down your overall site, the health, your load speed. It’ll look at Google core web vitals and any issues. Number two, check your website for malware. I want you to use Sucuri to scan your website for malware as well. You can go to the URL on the screen, sitecheck.sucuri.net, and that’ll help you figure out that, “Hey, is something wrong happening?” Next, I want you to run a link audit. You’ll be shocked. Sometimes, you’ll get really bad sites from adult sites or gambling sites or pill sites linking to you that you don’t want just because someone’s trying to tarnish your rankings. So go to Ubersuggest and put in your URL and see if there’s any links that look shady and look at the anchor text. Ubersuggest will break down the anchor text of the sites linking to you if you see any funny keywords, like any pill names like Cialis or Viagra, and funny enough, believe it or not, we see this sometimes in the client sites. You want to get all this stuff cleaned up, disavow them, try to remove them. And in most cases, Google’s really good. They don’t really try to penalize you for bad links that they know that you may have not created.What are the keywords that used to rank for, but don’t rank for? I recommend searching for each of those keywords on Google. Look at all the sites that are ranking at the top. What are their articles covering that yours don’t? Is it that yours is still an outdated? Is it that their’s way more thorough and in-depth? And I’ll take the content from the weaker one and make sure anything I didn’t talk about in the stronger page also includes those elements. In addition to that, I would go back and use Screaming Frog and crawl my site to see if any of my internal pages also links to the weaker article and I would change those URLs to the newer one. So on top of doing the 301 redirect, you need to change your internal links as well to ensure that you’re updating your site. Lastly, what I would do is make sure you delete any content that is irrelevant. You don’t need a site with a million pages. You’re not Wikipedia. You’re not New York Times. It’s better to have a thousand pages or a hundred pages that are super, super strong, and in-depth and thorough, than 5 million pages with 99% of them being weak, thin content that no one cares to read. You’re spreading your juice, your authority, to too many pages that are weak and it can actually hurt your ranking versus having less content. About.com, which is owned by the New York Times, eventually got rid of the domain name “about.com,” split their site into a handful of sites that are more niche-based. They deleted thousands of pages of content and they saw their traffic go up because they focused their authority on relevant articles that are super useful to people versus irrelevant ones. So if you use those strategies and implement them, you can recover your traffic. It doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t start doing SEO right now because in the future, is one of the highest ROI marketing channels out there. But still you need to start doing stuff right now to generate those sales because you can’t wait six months, or a year, or two years depending on the keywords you’re going after to really get the results. First, you need to learn how to convert visitors into buyers. If you can’t convert visitors into buyers, then it doesn’t matter how much traffic you get. And if you can’t get your conversion rate high enough, the economics won’t work out, especially with paid advertising because the costs are continually rising, especially after COVID. You don’t really need a billion dollars for engineering when you’re a startup, but you do need it to scale your sales and marketing. And you need to have a conversion funnel with upsells and downsells. That’s how you get the most out of your revenue. The upsells and downsells, the key with that is speed and automation. And as long as you’re producing results, people gladly take you off those upsells and downsells. Second thing that you need to know. Search engines give older websites more authority and more placement. Now there’s no guarantee that if you’re older website, you have more authority in your website because you could be a brand new hot website that every wants a link to it talk about, but that’s usually not the case. Typically the older sites have much more authority. And no matter how much money you have, you can’t easily buy that age. You just have to be patient. And that’s the thing with SEO. It is super effective. The ROI is massive and that’s why we have one of the fastest 500 growing companies according to “E Magazine”, because SEO works for customers and our results are proven.Third don’t take short-term gains for long-term losses.So doing what’s best for your customers wins in the long run. Fourth, create a better mouse trap, as marketing is becoming too expensive. Look, I’m a marketer and I’m telling you, it’s just going to keep going up and up. And you can do some things that are very similar to sites like CodeCanyon that can help you put tools on your website, which can help you get traffic and you’d give away stuff for free, and you can buy some of these tools for 10, 20, 30, $40. 7 SEO Secrets Every Successful Online Business Employs [Video]

There is a formula that works for SEO and almost every business. I want you to stop thinking about keywords, as standalone and start thinking of topics that you want to own. The more in depth you go, the more thorough you go around a topic, even if some of those keywords don’t get much traffic it’s okay. You’re all about covering that topic in every single way, try to poke holes in your articles, try to poke holes in your content, make sure that you’re covering it from every way from Sunday so then that way you’re more likely to rank higher.Number two, internal linking. It’s silly, but most people don’t focus on it. Every time that you publish new content, you should figure out all right, is this new content related to any of my older pieces of content and can I go back into at least three old articles and link to this new one that I just published? By doing that what you’ll find is your new article will instantly get more juice and will have a better shot of ranking on Google because you’re internal linking to it versus keeping this article as this, you know, separate island that no one can easily visit.Third, outsmart your competition. I want you to identify pages that rank really well for your competition, but they have very few backlinks. And then you’re going to be creating better content around those pages and topics.The way you do this is you go to Ubersuggest and you type in your competitor URL, and the left-hand navigation go to top pages. It’ll show you all their most popular pages. Look at their backlinks. See which pages get the most traffic that’s relevant to your business, have keyword rankings that are relevant to your business because Ubersuggest will show you the keyword that each page ranks for and as long as they’re relevant, look for the ones that also have very little backlinks and then go create pages that are better.Fourth, create advanced guides. Be very thorough in your content. Just think about Wikipedia. Have you noticed that they pretty much rank for everything? Well, the reason they ranked for pretty much everything is their content’s thorough and it’s not just thorough, it continuous thorough.Fifth, use Google Search Console to avoid content cannibalization. If you have the same articles, ranking for similar keywords and getting impressions for it, it’s pretty much duplicate in Google’s eyes. So combine the articles and the URLs, make sure you use the 301 redirect so that way you’re transferring equity and when you combine those posts into the more popular version of the URL, which Google Search Console and Google Analytics will tell you, it’ll then tell you, hey, you know, here’s one for all the juice to this one, rank this one higher and make sure you also go adjust the internal links.Six, boost brand queries. Look in radio ads, people tell you to search for the brand, they tell you to find them on Google, they do the same in podcast and interviews and you can do that for around the web anytime you’re doing interviews or speeches, or if you’re doing ad campaigns or in your Instagram profile, give instructions for people to go Google your brand. The more people Googling for your brand and researching your company, the more brand queries you get. More brand queries you get, the more you’re going to rank higher in the long run.And last but not least number seven, I want you to rank for keywords that are the easiest and the lowest hanging fruit. So how do you do this? In Ubersuggest, type in any keyword that’s related to your industry.Then in the left-hand navigation, I want you to you to click on keyword ideas. This will show you a report of all the ideas related to that keyword, suggestions, related keywords question, and as long as you’re logged in, you’ll see this button option that’ll show you, hey, show me the keywords that I can rank for.You click on it, you put in your URL and then it’ll show you all the keywords based on your authority, your backlink profile, all your SEO factors that you have opportunities to rank for right now. Just make sure you go through that list of keywords. Even those filtered down by keywords that you have a shot of ranking for, it doesn’t mean they’ll all be a hundred percent fit as long as the tents there and the products and services that you offer match up with those keywords, you’ll be fine. People say SEO is dead, but we all know that isn’t the case because it drives so much revenue. The real question is, is it too saturated? Today I’m going to break down if it’s too late to start doing SEO in 2021. You’re probably not going to like the answer. And it is also not too late to start SEO and I’ll break down why I’m saying yes and no. So the first part, why is it to late? Well, all the companies with billions of dollars in budget are already doing SEO and they’ve been doing it for a long time. We see the majority of the large corporations out there, so it makes it really competitive. And when you look at most niches, there are very dominated by really high authority websites. And you’re seeing that these bigger and bigger sites are taking up massive amounts of ranking, even if their site doesn’t focus on a specific niche. A conversion funnel is a way or path that you guide people to get them to convert, a great example of conversion funnels that works is click funnels, it’s a software and they have examples of all the funnels out there that work for different industries. So check it out, it’ll at least give you ideas whether you use a product or not. So from that aspect, SEO, saturate, it still works. It’s saturated. Now it doesn’t mean SEO doesn’t work. It just means you have to be patient and give it more time. A great example of this is if I’m talking about SEO, I would break down everything related to SEO, from link building to on-page SEO, to Google core web vitals of page speed. And even though page speed isn’t necessarily a keyword that you would assume should they test you, it is because it’s a factor within SEO. That’s what I mean by topic clusters, check out the beginner’s guide to SEO by Moz.And if I were to do SEO today, I would start off with the keyword ideas report with an Ubersuggest. So if you go to Uber says typing a keyword related to your industry. And once you type a keyword to your industry, you’ll see this report. It’ll show you your traffic for that keyword, how many people search for it on mobile or desktop devices. And then the left hand navigation, you’ll see this option called keyword ideas, click on that. And when you click on that, you’ll see this report of all these keywords from ones from Google suggest for related keywords or question related to keywords that you could potentially rank for that could be good. Now remember how I said earlier that SEO is saturated and it’s more competitive. Well, if you’re logged into Ubersuggest, if not, just sign in, there’s this option that says keywords I can rank for that’s on this exact report. If you click that and you put in your domain, it’ll filter all the keyword ideas on that report and show you which ones are most relevant for you that are good fit that you can rank for. Now, I want you to filter them based on the attack what’s relevant for your product or service that you’re selling, by doing that, you’re then focusing your SEO efforts on ones that are easy to rank for based on how new or old your site is, based on how many backlinks you already have, Ubersays, we’ll figure all that out for you and do the equation and come up with the right keywords that you should rank for, but you need to make sure you pick the ones that have the best opportunities. If You Have ZERO Website Visitors, Do THIS First | Optimizing a New Website For Organic Traffic [Video]

If you have zero website visitors, there’s actually a strategy that’ll help turn things around faster. Today I’m going to break down, if you have zero website visitors, this is what you should do first.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________Step one, identify keywords and topics that you can win on today. So go to Ubersuggest type in any keyword related to your industry. You’ll then see a report, that ends up showing you how popular that keyword is, how much traffic it gets, how many clicks go to people’s websites. And what I want you to do is go look on the left-hand navigation and click on keyword ideas. And then if you’re not logged in make sure you’re logged in, but this report shows you all the keywords that you could potentially rank for. I want you to then click on the keywords I can rank for button. And then in that box, putting in your URL. What Ubersuggest is doing is, it’s analyzing your website, how many people link to you, your authority, what you can potentially to rank for, and then it filters out all the keywords and shows you what keywords have the biggest potential for you to rank for right now. And if you do that, you now have a list of keywords that are the best fit for your website. And the next thing that you’ll want to do is filter them based on intent. So some of the keywords, even though you can rank for, if the products and services that you offer, don’t align with that keyword, you don’t want to go after it. You want to instead go after the ones that are really ideal fit. Step two, learn from your competitor strategy and spot opportunities. I want you to now use the Ubersuggest competitor analysis reports. A great example of this is the backlinks report. So if you go to the backlinks report, you can put in any competitor URL, and it’ll show you their backlinks. And when you end up doing that, you go over like, hey, maybe I should go after these links. Another thing that I like doing with competitor analysis is looking at the top pages. So anytime I look at the top pages report, and this is one of my favorite parts on Ubersuggest, it shows me all the top pages from an SEO perspective that my competitors rank for. Now, I take this data to then figure out, all right, what pages of content should I create that I haven’t created yet? And what are all the keywords that that page ranks for, for my competition? So now I have a list of keywords. And what are all the people linking to them? because it also shows you all the back links. So then now you have a list of keywords when you’re creating your content, and you have a list of sites to head up to also get to link back to you. Step three, create in-depth content around the main topics you want to focus on. I don’t want you to go broad. Just like how I just talked about video editing, I’m a marketing site. I need to focus more on marketing. And I needed to niche down and be more narrow because that’s how I’m going to perform better in the long run. And once your traffic goes up and you’re starting to do well in your ranking on the first page, I want you to learn and expanse. Your learning some of these key words then expand and broaden up the category. So if I first started blogging on SEO, which is what I did in neilpatel.com. Then I started broadening up to content marketing, then social media marketing, then paid advertising, then conversion optimization, then email marketing.You see how I’m continually expanding? Heck I’m even starting to write articles now, on things like running ads on Hulu or Roku, I’m even talking about television advertising. So I’m still sticking to marketing, but I’m expanding. And eventually I may expand out of marketing and I would still cover it very deeply, but I would also maybe add another category like sales because sales and marketing. NOT Every Keyword is Worth Pursuing in SEO (Here’s Why) [Video]

Just because a keyword gets a lot of traffic, it doesn’t mean it’s worth going after. Today I’m going to break down, how not every keyword is worth pursuing an SEO and why.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________Going after keywords that are too competitive is a waste of time, specially if you have a low domain authority. Look, if you’re going after keywords like credit cards and your brand new site, your chance of ranking are slim to none, you’re going to spend all this time and effort and money to try to get there, and you’re not going to get the results anytime soon. You’re better off going after keywords that can provide quicker results, and then once you’re getting some rankings, you’re generating some traffic, some revenue, then in the long run, you can invest after those harder terms that take longer to rank for. Before I dive in with the tactics, I’ve got a quick stop for you. I get over 9 million visitors a month, but less than .1%, not 1%, I’m saying .1% of those visitors, ever become a customer. High volume keywords don’t mean much to go after if they don’t have the correct intent.So how do you find out the right keywords to go after? Well, step one, go to Uber suggests. Step two, type in the keyword related to your industry. Step three, you’ll see a report that loads on Ubersuggest that just has overview on the traffic and some stars of the keyword. In the left hand navigation I want you to click on the keyword Ideas report. And when you click on the Keyword Ideas report, you’ll see a button on the very right called Keywords I Can Rank For. If you don’t see it, that means you need a log in. It’s free to log in. And once you log in, you can put in your domain name. And when you put it in your domain name, Ubersuggest will analyze your site and show you that an appropriate list of keywords that you can target, that you actually have a shot of ranking for and the shorter timeframe versus waiting years to get rankings for. Now filter the base on the intent of what is relevant to your proctor services that you’re selling. And what you’ll find is Ubersuggest will break down if a keyword is easy to rank for or hard to rank for. Ideally target the ones that are the easiest to rank for, because it’ll show as your difficulty score. Even though you have a list of all the keywords that you can rank for, pick the ones that are not just the most relevant to your business, but pick the ones that have the lowest SEO difficulty score. That means you’ll be able to get the results faster. That’s what I want you to start doing. Now the next thing I want you to do is that you go to the Site Audit Report within Ubersuggest. If you’re starting off with SEO, it’s not all about traffic, it’s all about ranking for the right keywords that drive a results in the short run so that you will have more money to invest in more long-term marketing approaches.With the Site Audit report, put in your URL, it’ll break down all the Errors, what you need to fix, what’s the most crucial, what is more suggested and isn’t as crucial, how fast your website’s loading, load speeds are really important factor because more people are browsing your website or pretty much the internet these days off of mobile devices than they are on desktop devices.And what’s cool with the Ubersuggest audit report is, it breaks out each and every single error in priority. What I mean by that is the ones listed at the top show you “hey, you need to fix these errors first because they’ll have the biggest impact on your rankings and track.” And then you second, third, fourth. So just knock them all down in order. The last thing I want you to do is go create a project within Ubersuggest. So go to your dashboard, add a project, put in your URL, and put in the keywords that you want to rank for, and that you’re targeting. You know, at the beginning, maybe not week over week or day over day, but in the long run, quarter over quarter, you’ll definitely see your rankings go up and if you fast forward a little bit, you’ll start seeing your rankings go up to page one and page two.
