Why Social Media Marketing Doesn’t Work (For Most People) [Video]

Why social media marketing doesn’t work for most people? It doesn’t matter if it is Facebook, or Instagram, or LinkedIn, or even Twitter. Social media marketing just doesn’t work, or at least for most people. And no, it’s not because you don’t have enough followers, instead, it doesn’t work because you only focus on getting more followers. See, that’s the issue. Let’s say you want a million followers. If you want lots of followers, you have to create content that appeals to the masses. RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________For example, I’m in digital marketing, that’s a vertical I’m in. I own a digital marketing agency called NP Digital. And I can start to create more generic content, and my follower account will rise faster, which is funny because that’s what my social media team keeps telling me to do. But I don’t. Why? Because yes, it’ll get us more followers faster, but every time we do that, you can guess how many more clients we get or even leads? It gets us a whopping zero extra leads clients and revenue. And I’ve tested this out hundreds of times, literally. So my most popular content pieces I’ve created have been around lifestyle marketing, such as spending money on fancy clothes or what I learned from flying first class on over a hundred trips. And I’m not saying you should fly first class. There’s nothing wrong with economy. It creates buzz, but it doesn’t convince our ideal customers to work with us. On the flip side, if I give SEO tips or marketing tips, do you know what happens? I get way less views. I get way less likes on my content. But people who watch my content are interested in SEO, and a portion of those people eventually convert into leads and some even in customers. In other words, yes, you need followers to make social media marketing work for you, and of course, you need great content, but the big mistake that people make, it’s that they create content that focuses on the masses so they can boost this vanity metric AKA follower account, instead of focusing on creating content that targets their ideal customer. So with your social media marketing, focus on your ideal customer and not on everyone. That’s how you make it work. The Most Effective Ways to Market Your Business With No Budget [Video]

Who says you need money to get traffic to your website? Today, I’m going to break down the most effective ways to market your business with no budget. I’m going to break down some of the easiest ways to get traffic when you have no money.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Canva: https://www.canva.com/Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________The first strategy, SEO. What I want you to do is just start off by writing content and sharing it on the social web. If you don’t know what content to write, what I want you to do is go to Ubersuggest, type in any keywords related to your industry, click on the content ideas report in the left-hand navigation and it’ll show you all the articles that are popular based on social shares and it will show you based on backlinks. Once you write your content, because this is, you know, you’re basing off other popular piece of content, that’ll give you the idea. And then what I want you to do once yours is out, hit up all the people that share the other articles or link to it, Ubersuggest provides a lot of this data, reach out to them and ask them to share your content. Second strategy, Google My Business. It’s one of the easiest ways for local businesses to get more traffic and higher rankings. So, make sure you submit yourself to Google My Business. Another strategy that I love is PR, and you’re probably wondering, hey Neil, I don’t have the budgets to go hire a big PR firm. How do I get all this free PR? Well, the way you get this free PR is a site called HARO, Help A Reporter Out. What HARO does is, it’s a community of reporters that are saying, hey, I have questions around all these topics, is there anyone who can help me answer them? And if you answer them, what it’ll do is, they’ll be like, oh, thank you. And they’ll include you in the article and that gets you publicity, which can get you traffic and sales. Another strategy that I love is public speaking. Even though it doesn’t drive that many sales, you’re building a relationship with other people. And if I’m giving a speech in front of an audience, those people are super qualified, when I tell them about my website, they go to it and it can generate some sales. Another strategy that I love is guest posting and cold outreach. What I mean by this is, if you can go and guest post on popular sites that have your audience already, you can generate sales. Another strategy that I love is Facebook groups. There’s so many groups, there’s groups on literally everything. So I want you to participate. And then, whenever you have a product or service that’s related, then you can mention it, but make sure you’re participating first and giving more than asking. Next, I want you to leverage email marketing. There’s a saying that goes in the marketing industry, the money’s in the list, it’s your digital ATM machine. So, collect emails. Educate 80% of the time when you’re sending out emails, and promote and sell your products 10 to 20% of the time. Another strategy, video marketing. Any time you create video, upload it to YouTube, Instagram TV, Instagram Reels, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, the possibilities are endless. Because you already have followers and friends on all these social sites, uploading content, video content, just does well. Then you have infographics. If you go back to the content ideas report within Ubersuggest, so you go to Ubersuggest.com and then put in a keyword related to your industry, you go to the content ideas report in the left-hand navigation. You’ll see a list of all the popular articles within your industry. You can then go create infographics based on some of those topics and you can use tools like Canva to help you create those for free, and then reach out to all the people that link to that article, which shows you in the content ideas report, right?Another strategy that I love using is applying for a business award. It doesn’t give you as many visitors as you would like, but it gives you that credibility, which helps improve your conversion rate. And it does improve word of mouth marketing as well. And then, I recommend partnerships with other brands. It’s all great ways to increase your sales. Digital Marketing Trends You Can’t Ignore in 2021 [Video]

CPCs, and you know, cost for impressions decreasing drastically right now. I don’t know if you guys see that, but we see that. We also see conversion rates decreasing.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________What are the MAJOR changes in SEO for 2021?: https://studio.youtube.com/video/RjIs4S2z1W0/edit7 SEO Experiments to Test in 2021: https://studio.youtube.com/video/o_S2uyuLiFw/editUbersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________I’m making a number up just to keep the numbers simple for everyone. But if your conversions dip by 20%, but your CPCs dip by 40 or not by 40, but by four X, so 400%, you still make more money.Stealing toilet paper, your CPCs aren’t going down. Your CPCs may not be going down, but your CPA’s are going down because everyone’s buying. You’re selling travel, your CPCs are really plummeted, but your CPA is even worse than your CPC, so it doesn’t even matter, right? Obviously, whether the people are looking for new recipes, off of say, like a download bar or something or food delivery apps that are absolutely smashing it right now. But everything else is majority down. Most verticals outside of that, besides health, which I saw it on your graph, had a little bit of it or has an increase. Almost everything.A lot of the brands are the ones who are having a slashed budget, so we’re seeing a lot of offers go down too. So with that being said, more than not this time in particular, brands are what people should be focusing on building over anything else. It should be brand-focused first because they can be that takeover, that bleach over, hand sanitizer, a keyword, or whether it’s a Facebook like, you know, avoiding FTC, looking for brands that they can rely on.And this is a great time to focus on building a brand, but it’s just a terrible time in general. It doesn’t mean you can’t start a business or come out fine. It’s just that times are tough right now. Cut fat. I know that sounds bad, but sometimes you have to cut to stay in business or furlough. Try to avoid that. But you can apply for the government loans and grants in different countries, so that way you can retain people. The second thing would be offer additional services to make up any revenue loss. The third thing would be is get creative and start thinking out of the box. People can’t pay you. Maybe they even pay you on a performance basis. So start trying different things just to get your income going. And focusing a lot on the back end for your clients as much as possible as well. It’s an unprecedented times for sure. And every day, we’re learning things new. And we don’t have to go into it too much, but, you know, returning the economy back to normal is one thing. Is the cure worth it? It’s this ongoing conversation. No easy decision. You’re going to have a lot of people come online. They were online anyway, but now they’re making more purchases online. They’re realizing how convenient it is. because they didn’t just have to do it for a week. It’s been so far a month, and then it’ll take roughly another month or two. So they’re getting used to it. You’re going to see a lot of these people continue with that trend. You can get up and running through click funnels. Just run some ads through Facebook, and you can crush it. Create good courses and products. But you can do really well, especially right now, with CPCs being so low. – Yeah, I mean, to that point, make good products everyone. There’s so much noise out there. Everyone’s selling a course. Be different. Be bold. Do something that actually provides value. I think the industry can get a bit of a bad rep with all these courses out there, but provide that unique advantage. Something that you can only share is much appreciated for everyone in this industry and those clients that are purchasing it as well. This is the time. People are shifting online to learn. People are looking for additional income revenues generated for themselves. So this is the time. If you have something to share, if it’s unique, definitely go online and do it.
