EVERYTHING You've Been Taught About Content Promotion is WRONG [Video]

You're promoting your content the wrong way and today we're going to fix that. Today, I'm going to break down everything that you've taught about content marketing promotion is wrong.Question for you: how much time do you spend promoting your content every time you write a blog post? Let me know, is it five minutes? 30 Minutes? One hour? Two hours? 10 hours? Let me know in the comments below, I'm curious.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________A New Way To Build Links (And Spend Less Time Finding Opportunities): https://youtu.be/KwCjzeXcWpEHow to Find Lucrative Link-Building Opportunities in Under 60 Seconds: https://youtu.be/MFLXnMh-BHoUbersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________Look, not every content piece is worth promoting, no matter how much cold outreach you do, if your intent is self-servicing, you're not going to get any of the free or paid promotions working well for you. I want you to focus on helping other creators’ audiences. You want to focus on their audience's pain points, their needs, their wants, and you want to solve the problem in a way that no one else did. You want to turn a written piece of content into a data visualization piece. You want to turn a written content piece into a video. You have to figure out how to make it beneficial to the other audience. So for example, if you write more detailed content than your competition and someone's linking to them, and there are articles on 'how to get more Facebook to reach in 2021' and they're linked to it, they're like, "Hey, this is how you're going to improve your Facebook reach." Well, if 2022s coming up and their algorithms change or 2023s coming up, or 2024s coming up and their algorithm change, then you can talk about their updated algorithms and each one, same with Google, and you can be like, "Look, here's what's working these days. Here's the type of content pieces that are working. Here's what's not. Here's the overview synopsis. Here's even a video that gives you an overview." And sending that to people who are linking to your competition, they're more likely to link to you because that benefits their reader base and gives them the latest and greatest. Also, I don't want you to use cold outreach templates. They just don't work. Use your own voice, understand what works in your templates and adjust to your own personality, your own voice, et cetera. Promoting your own brand can be more powerful than also promoting your own content. So here's an example of that. You're probably like, "Neil, what are you talking about? Promoting your own brand versus your content?" Seeing content marketing, everyone's like, "Oh, you got to promote your content." Well, a lot of times I did self-like, I did a 'who is Neil Patel campaign'. There was a ton of people who are popular all over the world on social media and they promoted my name. And just posting your content on social media these days, isn't enough. You need to tease people and try to gauge their pain points. You need to lead with a teaser piece when you're trying to post on social media and have that call to action so then that way people want to go to your website. So for example, when I post on social media, I'll start with the hook, such as, "the way you're promoting content is all wrong. Do you want to know how to do it the new way? Well, here's the latest and greatest." You see how I use the hook that causes people from social to be more likely to go to your website. And by telling people that, or even telling them to check out in-depth pieces on your website from your social channels, that can help a little bit, but it doesn't work as well as that hook that I just mentioned. And you don't want to waste time trying to get the wrong brands to promote your content. If there's an audience mismatch, you're going to be wasting time. You don't want to focus only on the big brands, go after smaller brands that are in your space. Even niche people don't have a big audience. Something's better than nothing. You want to focus on external content promotion opportunities that make sense, that allow you to build your own community, that allow you to nurture your community with content that only they have access to. For example, I may do a partnership with Entrepreneur, do a webinar, tell people about all the latest and greatest on my site, have a landing page for them, tell them about it, collect their email address so that way I can foster, nurture my own community. Wouldn't it be cool if AI did your marketing for you? Well, now it can. Today, I'm going to break down how AI is changing marketing and SEO. Look, technology has made marketing easy. Today, I want to share some of those tools that can make your life easier, and also talk about the future of AI in marketing.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Morphio.ai: https://morphio.ai/Marketbrew: https://www.marketbrew.com/Jarvis.ai: https://www.jarvis.ai/Clearscope: https://www.clearscope.io/Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________So let's go over some of the tools first. Tool number one, Morphio.ai. It's a monitor and analysis tool that uses AI. It'll tell you when something is wrong with your paid ad budgets. This is super important because look, as an SMB or even an enterprise company, you all have budget. You don't want something to go over. So let's say you're spending all this money on advertising, and you're having people help you out. If you're testing out a thousand different places or a hundred, I know I'm going to the extreme, if ones aren't working out, you don't want to keep spending money. Even if your whole campaign is profitable, but there's certain parts of the campaign that aren't profitable. But the ones that are profitable are picking them up. You want to stop the underperforming ones so you can spend more money on the placements that are performing. That way, you'd make even more profit. So check out that tool. Tool number two, marketbrew. It's an automated SEO AI tool, and here's what I mean by this: It's a search engine that can calibrate itself to be like any search engine that you want it to be. So it's definitely worth checking out cause it'll help you avoid some of the mistakes. Now grant it, it's not going to be identical to Google's algorithm cause they make roughly eight plus changes a day. But, it'll give you a a good idea of what's going to work and what's not going to work. Tool number three, Jarvis.ai. Content creation tools, especially ones that are using AI, are not perfect. But, they do save you a lot of time. What if, tools helps with your titles, your outlines, and even paragraphs, and you just have to go in and put some keywords. It'll help set up all this content for you, and then you just had to go in and make it better. That's what Jarvis.ai does. It'll give you a head start, and it can save you, sometimes, half the time when it comes to creating content which is huge. Especially if you hate writing content. Tool number four, clearscope. This will help you get more traffic from your writing. And that's cause clearscope helps you produce content that's highly relevant to what people are searching for. It helps you determine, what topics you should focus on, as well as the writing aspect of your content creation. Such as headings, keywords that you should use within your content to also get the most traffic. Cause remember, if you use tools like Ubersuggest to do your keyword research which you should, it's not just about those head terms. That's when Ubersuggest we have those keyword ideas cause there's all these other longed out keywords that you need to use as well. Now that we covered some tools that you should try, here's where marketing and AI is going in the future. With SEO, people like me at Ubersuggest, we have teams of people working on AI machine learning where you can put java script on your website, and it just does all your SEO for you. So you don't have to end up changing any aspect of your on page code and the tool will do it for you. We're even trying to use machine learning and we're running experiments on our end to figure out if we can even matching build links to do the outreach for you, all automated as if it was humans, and actually get you linked without having a human do it. And with marketing, you're going to see AI integrated into all forms of marketing. Now it doesn't mean that all the AI is going to replace humans cause humans can do a lot of creative thinking and is yet to be seen if AI can do the same type of creative skills. Especially when it comes to marketing campaigns. But, it can make it worth more efficient and you don't need as many people to get the same job done. Today's lesson, we're going to be discussing the principles of growth hacking. So why use growth hacking? Well, it saves on advertising costs. It's more efficient, and it's a much quicker way to grow than just using the traditional channels. And in many cases, when you just use the traditional marketing channels to grow, it costs a lot of money and you have to raise venture capital, which is why we discussed that in the previous lessons. But if you use growth hacking you can be much more efficient and you don't need as much capital to grow faster. RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Download the Assets mentioned in this course: https://neilpatel.com/training/Demo Duck: https://demoduck.com/Animoto: https://animoto.com/____________________________________________The first step with growth hacking is about having a product people want. It doesn't matter how good you're at marketing. If people don't like your product or they don't like your service, you're not going to do well. So make sure you always fine-tune your product. There's three disciplines that I want to cover in today's lesson: psychology, technology, and marketing. Growth hacking is when you use marketing, psychology, and technology, and you combine them all to achieve business growth for maximum users, revenue sales. Now let's dive into psychology first. With psychology, a lot of people are like, all right, this product was $30, now it's 10. And in essence, they're doing a sale, and that creates a lot of movement in the product. And when you have sales, that works out well. But you're like, Hey, I don't always have the sale running. That's okay. You can use psychology in different ways with pricing. And the reason this is important when you're using psychology within your copy, within the images is when you're driving things like paid traffic, if your conversion rate isn't as high, well, your ROI is not as good and you can't spend as much. The big thing that I want you to take away when using psychology, it also needs to be logical. If it's not logical, it doesn't work as well. Yes, you want to play against emotions but you want to play against emotions and logic. Another strategy is product demos and explainer videos. We used to use them on crazyegg.com years ago. We used a company called Demo Duck back in the day to create them. There's tons of options. Now I don't know if Demo Duck still exists or not. And you can do it for more than just software companies or technology companies. You can also do it for eCommerce products. 73% more visitors who watch product videos will buy. Videos appear in roughly 14% of internet search results. So it's a great way to get extra traffic. And 71% of consumers think videos explain the product better. And 57% are less surprised by products with the video, which causes less refunds. And 58% of shoppers think companies with product videos can be trusted. So you should really consider creating a video if you don't have one.Another quick and easy way that you can grow as well, similar to, you know, using product videos as a hack, this one is exclusivity.I also recommend that you use humans in your video to explain things. Just keeps things really simple. I recommend you keep it short. Don't have 20-30 minute videos if you don't need to, if you can have a 1-minute video, even better 30 seconds. Anything that you can do to imply urgency. And the best product videos tend to tell a story as well as demo. So those two things are super important. I also want you to try progression as a psychological hack. And the idea of helping them achieve their goals is great. So whatever they're doing, help them level up and achieve more. And that's a great way to get them to really stick with it and continually pushing forward.I also want to show you advanced sales funnel that I use to generate more leads and sales. I use a lot of psychology in one of my funnels. I know it's a little bit hard to see.Don't worry about, you know, looking at each and every single step. Again, you can get this at NeilPatel.com/training. Click on Growth Hacking Unlocked, and in there click on week two. It's the first video lesson in there. A lot of people use advanced funnels. Good example of this, my buddy Timothy Sykes, helped him grow to 15 million per year. He's much bigger than that now. And Timothy really grew through funnels. It just worked really, really well for him. So imagine combining traditional marketing with technology and psychology, and that's where the power comes from. That's how you grow a business.
